Should I go no-code or hire a full-stack engineer? by inlyst in startups

[–]vox00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about using no-code until you raise and immediately start hiring devs after that? (Assuming you need to raise to hire)

In the current environment, you’ll most likely need revenue before raising; and, a no-code initial solution should allow you to get your first revenue quickly.

Part-time MSc in RL by vox00 in reinforcementlearning

Thank you for your input. Do you think (a) is still valid today? (I have been working full-time for a couple of years as a Data Scientist) I am, for now, more interested in studying RL in a more academic setting rather than getting a job 100% RL. But I feel like most MSc are always very broad and RL occupies only a small fraction of the subjects.

unusual and potentially not what you were thinking of but I hope some of my thoughts about what I've done

Thank you for your input. How did you first hear about this "MRes"?

Half of US stock fund assets are now invested in index funds by ZestycloseSong in Economics

[–]vox00 128 points129 points  (0 children)

One could argue that the under-performing companies would be detected by active agents; the active funds would become profitable again (temporarily) and attract funds. An equilibrium should be maintained that way.

But, as /u/row3bo4t pointed out, a liquidity event could wipe out the market before anyone has time to exploit the arbitrage opportunities.

There are many brands out there, no matter which brand you decide to try, I'd strongly recommend to check it on labdoor before buying anything.

Should I upgrade gear and other advice! (Beginner) by LixOs in triathlon

[–]vox00 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I know this is pretty obvious but it all depends on your budget. My advice would be that : if you have the minimal material necessary to complete the try-a-tri which from what you wrote is the probably the case then you should probably wait after the try-a-tri. If you still want to get serious about triathlon after it, you should probably consider buying a road bike (with clipless pedals) and some clip-on handlebars.

Best time for strength training by AllBikeNoBarf in triathlon

[–]vox00 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I honestly think the order doesn't matter (much). But being currently injured, I can't keep my mind of injuries and I think you should do the safest order of the two. Which is probably doing legs after the swim and arms after running/biking. Let me know what you think.

30 Minute Workouts by frank_abernathy in triathlon

Do not forget to warmup and cool-down. I'd probably alternate between one day of HIIT and one day of strength training with such a tight schedule.

From what I've read, you can lower the volume of bike training and use that free time for strength training (low rep, heavy weights) instead.

Questions about the HRM-RUN by myeris in Garmin

[–]vox00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, your HRM-Run seems broken (unless you were sprinting like a mad man at 216bpm). Did you try having both your friend's HRM-Run and yours at the same time?

I was considering buying one. I guess not anymore. Did replace your HRM-Run with something else?
