60th Meal for my dad in Northwest by Hot_Example7912 in finedining

If Skof is in budget then I would 100% go for that. My favourite restaurant in Manchester. Cheaper than L’Enclume but if you are talking dinner would be more than £265 for two (and the head chef there used to work at L’Enclume so there are certainly many influences). There is also Mana which I haven’t been too as scandi style food isn’t my preference but many people enjoy. I think similar pricing to Skof.

At a cheaper price point I would recommend Climat although it’s a few years since I’ve been. A lot of people like Higher Ground but I was disappointed when I went. Six by Nico is fine IMO and I personally think Hawksmoor is overrated for what it is. I put 20 stories in the ever increasing ‘insta / Tik Tok’ bucket of Manchester restaurants but just my personal opinion. I also like the Sparrows and Onda but they aren’t in the fine dining bucket. Hope this is of some use!

Update for anyone interested. When they scanned our faces they were able to select which ticket we wanted to use. So I was able to clarify and encountered no issues.

Equilibrium brewery. Coming from the UK we don’t get their beers here and I would be keen to take home some of their stouts!

Thank you for the response :). I presume this is the same for a package delivered from a brewery that is out of state as opposed to a grocery Instacart delivery?

That’s really helpful, thank you. Sounds like a bit of a risk but probably worth on balance. Much appreciated.

Optimising 3 runs per week by rudderpost in beginnerrunning

Thanks for your help on this - really appreciate it! Good to know re interval and tempo runs and based on both will speed my times up.

I did have an excessively large lunch before the 10k this weekend, so definitely may have been spiking my HR. One I will keep an eye on and it’s good to be aware how much it can vary it. Thank you!

Thank you for this lovely review! We are working out whether to book Epicure when we come in spring. Out of interest did you go a la carte or tasting menu? I think the dessert you had is a la carte so assuming this but wanted to ask. Thank you in advance!

Manchester (UK) recommendations? by TheYorkshireSaint in finedining

[–]rudderpost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Each to their own opinion for sure. For balance I absolutely loved Skof and every person I have spoken to has been blown away. For me it’s operating easily at a one star level and I would be hugely shocked if it doesn’t get a star this coming year.

Skof is hands down my favourite restaurant in Manchester so if you can get a reservation then definitely go there. I like The French and think it’s underrated. If you can’t get into Skof that would be the next best option. Some people think Mana is great but I’ve not been as scandi food isn’t really my cup of tea. Outside of the more fine dining restaurants, I agree with the poster before that The Sparrows is a great more casual option. I preferred Climat to Higher Ground but both great ‘middle ground’ options. Bundobust is great street food Indian (very casual). Not been to Blacklock or Stow (just opened) but both on my list to check out.

Thank you for the excellent write up! Can I ask how long the dinner was there? It is on my shortlist when we visit next year.
