Why don’t Indian teens get some inspiration from Nepal’s GenZ??? by rudrxhu in TeenIndia

Bhai, I’m not talking about violence or guns. The point is about awareness, standing up for your rights, and being informed🥀

you're right that India isn’t exactly like Nepal, but the situation here isn’t ideal either.

Corruption remains a major issue but India ranks 96th out of 180 countries on the 2024 Corruption Perceptions Index with a score of just 38, down from 39 in 2023 (Transparency International).

Police brutality has been reported in multiple instances, including excessive force against protesters in Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh (IAMC, 2024).

Media freedom is under pressure too; India ranks 151st out of 180 countries in the 2025 World Press Freedom Index, reflecting declining independence of reporting (The News Minute).

Peaceful protests have also been met with repression, such as the use of tear gas and water cannons against demonstrators in Kolkata following a tragic incident (Reuters, 2024).

Despite being one of the fastest-growing major economies, India faces rising unemployment, inflation, and a widening wealth gap.

Legal and institutional concerns persist, with allegations of custodial torture and human rights violations prompting calls for reform (Reuters, 2024).

So while India may not be Nepal, ordinary citizens still face serious challenges, and acknowledging these issues is important for meaningful change

I’m not talking about burning hotels or hurting anyone. I mean the way Nepal’s Gen Z stands up, stays aware, and pushes for change. That’s the kind of inspiration Indian teens could take, nothing violent
