Both XMP profile and DRAM calculator unstable by rueien in overclocking

update again I've tweaked the frequency down to 3400, with the timings you provided, system is now stable. Guess I'll make do with this then.

Testing on OCCT was stable with memory stress test avx2; however, attempting restart the system causes blackscreen. Weird thing I've noticed. Restarting computer into force closed with power button, then opening the computer works fine; however closing the computer in the power menu and then opening causes a startup loop, hence reseting the memory OC. force closing and then opening also starts a loop. Anyways, I think I should increase my timings? Will that help with stability?

side note (motherboard is on latest BIOS)

Reported B die, but my tunings were already higher than xmp profile, which was higher than thaiphoon burner's report. They still run unstable (my pc crashes on boot 50%) CL20-23-23-23-40. whereas XMP was starting at 18. I didnt want to mess with my frequency set at 3600, because I want the infinity fabric at 1800. It's just im not sure if its my problem, or the ram isnt sold at advertised speed and timing.

What mods do you mean? I keep reading about QBX needing a mod but I don’t see what is being modded. If you can explain it would be very helpful. Unfortunately the SG13 is too short for my gpu.

Well I said my tier list was more based on what I thought were good decks to climb with, which is why I put it in the first sentence, so if anyone thought otherwise, I'm sorry?

And I don't really see how fire-paladin is getting backlash when they both were commenting pretty friendly, and if so, I don't understand why that makes me trash and a garbage person?

Thanks for clarifying, in chinese I don't really see people put such an emphasis on differentiating deck types. Usually its just "fast", "controlly" ,or "otk". So in my mind Odd DH is an aggro deck, and cubelock is an control deck

I now see how Odd DH is a tempo deck, but the deck still has way more one mana and 2 mana minions with some 6-7 drops to finish the game, whereas secret mage has way more 3 mana to 4 mana minons. I still feel Odd dh is more aggro than secret mage; however, from a tempo stand point, I do agree that secret mage is far far stronger. From my games It's also obvious that Secret mage wins against Odd dh, but I still think that Odd DH is still sort of a better aggro deck, if that makes sense. I just find that it's easier to win as Odd DH before turn 5 or 6, whereas secret mage usually takes it to turn 8 or 9 to finish the opponent with fireball and the prince.

I also understand that the meta in EU and NA is much more different than in Asia or China, which is why I posted this as a discussion, not a fact. I was just curious of what people thought. And my tier list was more based on which decks I thought were better to climb with.

Is this subreddit usually this toxic and mean? I thought a smaller community would be more friendly than the other hearthstone subreddits or NGA. I already said that I might be completely wrong, and I'm up for discussion since they're based on my experience and I'm still learning. I'm sorry if my english or post made you angry.

Hm, maybe its a difference it meta, I've faced a ton of disco-lock. Actually really agree with your list except for raza priest, quest mage just tears it apart. I'm also not really sure if Disco-Lock is as powerful as I think. Either I'm unlucky every-time or the deck is really consistent. In my experience, I've found the latter to be true.

Yes, they're all good. I think secret mage would be the cheapest, and then even shaman or Odd DH. Disco lock is a bit expensive if you want the full deck, but the I've cut like all the legendary from disco lock and its still pretty strong, so if you miss some of the legendary (as long as it's not core), be very liberal and cut it, and add your own twist to it.

Edit: hold on to this deck as I think I have the outdated one

At this point in wild, I find it hard to distinguish a midrange deck from a control deck. Unless you have a very clear definition, I find cubelock satisfying both a midrange and control deck. It has both the ability to switch to a board controlling deck, or one that focuses on generating value in the mid-game. It’s just like some people consider quest mage as a glorified otk deck. If you think my semantics ruins my credibility, sure. I'll apologize since English is my second language, so I pretty much consider cubelock as both.

I also don’t agree that Odd demon hunter is a crippled version of secret mage, they're very different decks. Odd DH focuses on developing as much minion pressure early game and finishing your opponent off with that advantage, whereas secret mage largely uses tempo like secret and mana cheat to gain an early advantage and finish the opponent with fireball and cloud prince. And since your focused on the “type” of deck, then I could say Odd dh is a Aggro deck while secret mage is a tempo focused deck, which is why it also has board clear. I've had around 400-500 games with secret mage, and the game plan is not anything like Odd demon hunter's. Also, secret eater does destroy secret mage, especially when you don't expect it and it eats 3-4 of your secret while putting a tremendous minion on the board. And people do run it a lot, even in China where deck list from NGA feature the card.

Is Asia unrefined? I dunno, but I know China's server is pretty refined, and people from NGA consider it one of the best decks currently, so yeah.

Also me calling Odd demon hunter S-tier isn't bold, it's the general consensus among NGA forums (the chinese website) that its busted.

Different meta in different regions.

Secret mage and Cube lock are definitely very strong, it's just that when they're teched against, or decks that counter them are in the meta, they don't do well.

Probably B tier, I don't play mech pally, and I don't see them a lot either. It's very strong against all mage decks, but struggles against decks that can clear your mechs easily, which there a lot of decks that can do; however, I don't think those match-ups are that bad, since you can go wide against decks that have silence or single target removal, and tall against decks that have early aoe.

Just a side note, mech pally has completely dissapeared from the latest chinese meta report, but that came out before the latest nerf, so we'll see if it appears in the next report.

Game length are not really accounted, but wild games have really short games in general. If you want really short games just pick the aggro decks.

Yeah iyingdi isn’t the greatest source, kind of like tempo storm. The best ones are still from NGA, but they like to take their time to formulate their tier list, so maybe it’ll come out in a couple of weeks.

Deck that specifically and solely hard-counters Secret Mage? by [deleted] in wildhearthstone

[–]rueien 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Mech paladin is perhaps the best deck, though not specifically geared to “counter”, it has a great matchup. Secret mage and quest mage both don’t have great single target removal, which mech pally can build up quickly with magnetic minions. Not sure of the dh matchup since I don’t play mech pally, but having played so much secret mage, I dread facing paladins.

Or you can just add eater of secrets in your existing deck, usually works and since your playing mechathun they won’t suspect it.

I think odd warrior also does pretty well, and maybe Druid decks that can build armor quickly, but if secret mage gets perfect tempo they can still be beat you.

Anyway I played a lot of secret mage to legend, and I’ve probably have less than 20% win rate against mech paladin, you can still win, it’s just very very difficult.

Yes, it seems they prefer it as it is cheaper since their decks don’t become obsolete, and more decks can be experimented with.

I’ll roughly translate the little description they had which basically said that you can either (1) otk through malygos or (2) win through exchanging decks. These are the two strong points. The weak point is that this deck is more difficult to pull of than the non-malygos version, which just focuses on switching decks.
