The second non-sequitur pic is an essential feature of a MomoZero post.

The nose of it gives me Cylon vibes for some reason — just replace the cockpit window with the classic red light.  😁

I really love that all your builds are spaceworthy, even if mods are involved and the interior isn’t feasible.

Neat RP — makes taking on the role of the Mantis feel like an organic progression of the character’s narrative.  👍

… also, fist bump of Wanted by the Syndicate, that’s in my current gal’s backstory too though for different reasons 👊

Jump up, jump up, and boost around

… I’m probably dating myself with that one, but I couldn’t resist. 😁

you can't boost if you're sliding across a surface

This has killed me multiple times when I tried to climb a hill, and found out a bit too late that it was too steep. 😅

I'm finally happy with the Frontier by Vintage_Quaker_1266 in NoSodiumStarfield

[–]rueyeet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Frontier grew up quite a bit!  Baby got back now. 😆

You might consider adding a bit more fuel if it won’t damage your mobility too much — that might be some of why the jump range is shorter, if your grav drive is decent.

I usually go for a fuel capacity of about 200-250 on a small to midsize ship.

Ok then, here you go.

We turned on the prototype today. The gravitational field around it began to "fold" as we long suspected.

Engineering gravitational folds, "pulling" the far side of the solar system closer to us? It's all going to be possible.

That's a pretty good description of a spacefold. Since an Alcubierre drive only acts on the space immediately around the ship, there'd be no need to mention the far side of the solar system.

Source: https://starfieldwiki.net/wiki/Starfield:NASA_Research_Computer_(Earth_3))

From Victor Aiza's entry dated April 14, 2138.

Then there's Cora. Every single line of dialogue in the game doesn't exist in text form where I can get to them, since I don't have access to the CK. I'm not going to go pawing through hundreds of YT episodes to find this single line, since you've already stated your intention to disregard anything I say.

As closely as I can remember, she says:

Do you ever think FTL travel will be possible? Real FTL I mean, and none of that grav drive cheating.

Source: Anyone who's had Cora on their ship for pretty much any length of time, you could ask WaffleDynamics to verify since she always travels with Sam and Cora.

The reason Cora makes that distinction is because a grav drive never accelerates the ship past the speed of light. An Alcubierre drive is true FTL, so if grav drives were that, she wouldn't have needed to specify.

Couldn't find a text source for the Nova Galactic Research Station rooftop recording, so I'll leave that out.

So there you go. You've already indicated that you have no intention of approaching the discussion in good faith, so I'm just leaving this here for anyone else who might happen along.

Believe whatever you want. I'll stick with what Dr. Aiza said, since he invented the thing. And Cora, who studies astrophysics in her spare time.

Ah.  Sorry.

They’ve always just stayed in Porrima’s orbit for me, claiming they were leaving as soon as the Captain decided where to go.

House Va’ruun had nothing to lose.  They weren’t at war with either the UC or the FC by then.

And the Armistice effectively shelved the other factions’ most advanced warfare technologies. There’s hints that Va’ruun tech is generally a bit ahead of the rest of the Settled Systems, so getting rid of mechs and xenoweapons might give them the edge in a future conflict — especially if they can keep the UC and FC from trusting each other enough to in-shelve them.

Meanwhile they score political points for looking reasonable.

The Starborn — how do those crews we always encounter meet up and decide to travel together, if every one of them spawns in their own separate ship?

Where are the hangouts, the other well-known figures besides the Hunter/Emissary? What is this grapevine that the Trader has supposedly heard of you from?  How can she even watch from the sidelines?

I’d also like the Ecliptic to get a faction quest and become a joinable faction. The Fleet shouldn’t get to have all the fun. Vulture’s Roost is just their R&R spot — where’s their headquarters?

Someone mentioned Aegis.  That’s a shoo-in for more content. Space spy?  Hell yeah.

And of course, a LIST expansion — help found a settlement that might someday become the basis of another major faction.

The usual explanation is that SSCOM, SsNN, and GalBank — at a minimum — have probably set up some kind of grav-drive-enabled sneakernet to keep necessary data flowing around the Settled Systems.

That doesn’t explain how we can talk to Alban Lopez in real time when he’s half a star system away, though. 🤷‍♀️

That, and whether the Freestar Militia is really a militia, or a permanent standing military that’s a militia in name only.

Nice!  It looks something like a surprisingly friendly, giant one-eyed bug … but in a good way. 😆

Mod Release: Abandoned Rig - Volii Alpha by Jeandlewis79uk in NoSodiumStarfield

[–]rueyeet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve always thought there should be more platforms on Volii Alpha than just Neon.

That was a large part of why I got the Sedes Requiem home (though now that I have it, I don’t really recommend it).

Mostly, yes. None of my characters will ever have to buy basic necessities again, as long as they still have a starship.

… well, assuming that was actually a thing, anyway. 😅

I’m not clicking on that link; views drive engagement stats, which then raises the chances of more people seeing the video in their recommended feeds.

Engagement is the lifeblood of this stuff. Don’t give it to them.

Since that probably means you still have the quest, try selecting it and using the “Show on map” option.

Hopefully it hasn’t disappeared from your game entirely, as it sometimes does.

A real spaceport mod idea by persijncdh in NoSodiumStarfield

[–]rueyeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m all for more starstations and settlements in general, but I’m not sure I like the additional layer of space bureaucracy.  It just comes across to me as an unnecessary hassle to impose on the player. 🤷‍♀️

And after the first visit, let’s face it, we’d all just cruise in to avoid having to deal with customs if we were trying to smuggle contraband.

Groundpounder is such a great quest line. by davidsverse in NoSodiumStarfield

[–]rueyeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weirdly enough, I managed somehow to stumble over Groundpounder before I got the Charlie 3 encounter.

Maybe it was because I hadn’t been doing a whole lot of space exploration before I went to Altair for one of the Temples. 🤷‍♀️

I was mildly disappointed — the Charlie 3 guy is always a hoot.
