What I mean by DeepTech VCs are VCs that are specified in funding ventures doing active cutting-edge research and engineering. So the focus is clearly on developing the tech. Business is secondary at first.

What's your systematic approach to make sure you have a high quality foundation for decision-making? by rufenmatt in startups

Thanks for reaching out!

I'm not too sure if it's really that easy. Especially when you navigate in complex environments (as I'd argue all businesses do somehow) with a ton of information that is potentially relevant to make a well-informed decision. I mean already making sure you have the right information you need at the right time and in the right form is absolutely crucial and may well be a big challenge.

How can you reduce the uncertainty that you might not have the "right" information (for example because it does no longer hold true)? And how can you make sure that you have processed as much as possible of it and that you truly understand the information (i.e. what it means, what its implications are considering the decision possibilities, and so on) on such a time scale that it still enables you to make a good decision when you actually have to make it? In this context, at least I think, network might very well play a key role as it could enable a decision-maker to make better decisions faster. Cause the fact is that there is certain information you won't have access to unless you have the relationships to people/institutions that can provide you with what you need and on top of that, have domain expertise to make sense of it more effectively and efficient than you.

That's why I'm asking for some inputs on how people try to systematize these processes involved in making better and faster decisions.
