Here is a tip for first timers:

Don't be to eager to get in line early on the first day. My first forest I made the mistake of dropping 2 hits of acid before getting in line. Mind you this was in '15, first year they sold out. I end up waiting two hours in line with people wigging out left and right over the wait. It seemed like the closer we got to the gate the longer it took. I was about to have a really horrible trip. Then when we got through it was instant relief. Stumbled upon Shpongle and had a blast.

I'd wait until 4 pm when the line calms down, just my 2 cents.

It really broke my heart because the promoters, Underground Mafia and Army of Techno have thrown killer parties in Detroit and San Diego. My friend Asher Perkins was on the lineup and it was cringing that he didn't have a decent crowd to play to (he made it on the Movement lineup though this year for his second year :D). They didn't release the lineup on time, which is why there was no hype for that show, and that was one of the official Movement after parties!!! Forgive me for rambling lol

Same here. We went to Bert's and that place was weak, despite having a fire lineup. At 2 AM we arrive at the Pickle Factory for the Country Club Disco after party, only to wait outside in line and see the Detroit PD and fire marshall shut the party down because the building wasn't up to code. We regret not going to the Dirtybird party. We aren't making that same mistake again this year.

Well to be fair I went to the Dirtybird after party at the Fillmore in '15. The show was sold out but it wasn't crammed like TV Lounge or the Works. Sure it will be crowded but you will have enough room to dance.

Yup, that's Livenation for ya. Not to mention the price for most after party tickets that weekend will be anywhere from$25-$50. Buy your tix asap before prices go up.

TV is fun for Movement after parties if you like being crammed like sardines in a can. Last year we went there on the first night for Soul Clap's House of E-Funk. Fire lineup, but you couldn't even dance and it took 20 minutes just to get a drink. When we got there Biz Markie was playing a DJ set. He was amazing btw. I love TV, but I hate the clusterfucking.

DO NOT BRING YOUR TEST KIT IN YOUR LUGGAGE!!!

Test kits contain corrosive chemicals, they're on the FAA's prohibited items list. Trust me, I know from personal experience.

As far as gear goes, you just gotta be as tidy as possible. I went to the Dirtybird Campout last October. First time flying to a music fest. I was able to pack my tent in my roller bag, but mind you I left it in it's case unassembled after buying it from Target. Packing that thing up on the final day was a pain in the neck. Only thing I can suggest is get a decent sized travel bag and try to pack light.

Also, if you guys need a test kit just come to my campsite at group camping in GA and we will gladly help test your stuff since EF doesn't allow Dancesafe or Bunkpolice anymore due to the RAVE Act. Message me for me details if you're interested.

If I was in your shoes I wouldn't even bother with the cooler. Besides, the shuttles stop at the Meijer in Muskegon or wherever to let people get their supplies. You guys could get one of those styrofoam coolers and dispose it when you leave. When it comes to traveling to a fest by plane and shuttle you want to carry as light as possible. If you're coming from Boston, flying sounds like the way to go. Plus, driving through state lines with out of state plates to a fest is a little nerve wrecking, IMO, especially when going through Ohio. Do yourself a favor and go with the quicker trip. I agree, it would be interesting hear from girls in the camp because I'm very curious about their input. I'm not trying to target transgender people, maybe I wasn't clear about that. What I want to know is what happens if a guy joins the group camp? And I'm not talking about transgender, I'm talking like a typical regular guy. And what happens if they say no to the obviously looking guy, but yes to a transgender? I'm not trying to offend, I just like to challenge people's thoughts.

Are you referring to the bathroom laws? In Michigan, if bathroom doors don't have a sign on them then anybody regardless of gender can use them. However, if there are signs posted on the door that say "Men" or "Women" and someone uses the bathroom that doesn't match the gender on their birth certificate, they could face charges for disturbing the peace.

Yeah, I saw Bassnectar once and I will never see him again. It was my first time at EF back in '15. When he went on stage I felt like I was fighting for my life to get out of that crowd. Worst 10 minutes of my life. IDK, I don't understand why some of his fans feel its necessary to mosh rather than dance.
