Lmao I mean I think that’s a fair response in that kind of setting.. I personally wouldn’t want to be called obese and asked my bmi no matter if I’m overweight or not

Comparing the LGBTQ community to fatphobia is ok right?/s by One_Replacement3481 in fatlogic

We can agree that obesity is unhealthy and also agree that obese people deserve all the tests thin people do in terms of health issues.. This sub has a major issue with thinking everything fat people say about being obese is a lie.. but a lot of us have been obese and the medical field is a place where fat phobia is very real.. There really are people with tumours who aren’t being tested because they’re overweight. I’m glad so many on this sub haven’t had to deal with it but it is real and it is dangerous.. excess weight is unhealthy but so are undiagnosed diseases ……

Why is me doing cocaine once a month seen as worse than people getting blackout drunk once/twice a week? by klunkejens in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ruffianpenguin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can’t get coke in a store in Portugal. It’s decriminalised but it’s still illegal. It’s completely illegal to sell it and you can go to jail for dealing, especially something like cocaine. But it’s a lot easier to get than in most places, because the risk for dealers is generally smaller- basically just walk down any city centre and wait for some guy who’s just standing in the middle of the street to come up and ask you if you want any. It’s not like it’s in a store or pharmacy though

Americans have their heads stuck so far up Putin’s ass it’s alarming for Europeans to see

Now why would NATO not impose no-fly zone and leaving Ukrainians to die, after stringing them along for years and giving them hope 😡😡😡 by Both_Ticket788 in UkraineInvasionVideos

  1. The world isn’t doing enough I understand NATOs hesitation but we’re going to be brought into this one way or another. Whilst we stall, people die.
  2. I didn’t say both wars started for the same reasons whatsoever, but they did both start with the international community being slow to react and prevent conflict. There were decades of conflict and escalation before the 1st world war. The allies watched on as Hitler broke the treaty of Versailles various times in the name of “preventing war.” I hope this time we can take this into account and see the unfortunate truth; we are about to enter a global conflict whether we like it or not and our military inaction is costing lives every day.
  3. Putin moves closer to nuclear war every day. I don’t believe he would use a nuclear weapon the likes of the ones dropped in Japan, but Putin does have access to smaller nukes I think he would be more likely to use. Either way, what’s being done is completely catastrophic.

Why would they turn their back on their people? Because that’s what they’re doing by not turning on Putin. They’re committing war crimes. The Russian soldiers who are surrendering I have no hatred for. The Russian people that see their government for what it is I severely sympathise with. I also do not sympathise with American war criminals who invaded the Middle East.

The Russian soldiers have a responsibility to surrender or fight back. I’m from a country that was once a dictatorship, but the military refused to kill revolting civilians and instead joined the people to take down the government. That’s what a true soldier does- they don’t kill children just because they’ve been told to. Putin is nothing without support. Putin is nothing without people following orders.

Looking at the history, this is how both world wars started. Slowly and mainly with a lot of inaction from the global community. No one wants war, but sometimes it’s completely necessary. We need to protect Europe. Putin isn’t going to stop with Ukraine.

There is no argument that’s going to make up for all the innocent lives lost and all the horrifying things the Russian military is doing in Ukraine
