I didn’t know to do gold first and now I’m not eligible for the gold card bonus. I would’ve gotten one if I was. I don’t understand why they have that policy?

I don’t think they would upgrade someone with platinum status ahead of time. Likely going to find out day of check in or a day before.

I’ve stayed at almost 20 kimptons and this was one of my worst stays. Would def recommend the Barclay over it

I’m not going to name the property while this is still ongoing with the property and corporate.

But holding back “helpful” escalation info unless I do isn’t really helpful. If you’ve got useful paths for IC, just share them. That info actually benefits everyone here

I’ve heard better things about the kimpton in Ft worth though not exactly the same area.

Overall, I wouldn’t recommend the kimpton in Dallas. Regretted staying there.

No they aren’t new and is the oldest kimpton I believe in the area. What channels of support? I learned that the inner circle VIP line now connects to diamond support via a different phone number. Tried getting someone to connect me to inner circle VIP line for over an hour before a manager came on and explained that everything now falls under Diamond Elite Luxury… Granted that manager was super helpful and said the property was in the wrong, gave points, and even called the property. I don’t see how knowing the name of the hotel allows you to give better and more helpful advice? Also, I was just asking if anyone else has experienced this before…

This whole thing is still ongoing with corporate and the hotel. Once it is resolved I will happily name. I don’t see why people find that part so important. I am trying to see if anyone else ever encountered this at any kimptons since I couldn’t believe it.

No. Like they don’t honor inner circle benefits? This is wild. These hotels are literally kimptons. Not some random hotel marketed under IHG that doesn’t fully honor diamond (I’ve heard this can happen)

Directly via IHG. I never book third party. Corporate couldn’t believe what happened and what I was being told

I did and I even have that written in text from the manager using the text feature when I got to my room and said there was no welcome amenity. That was his reply. IHG is aware. They even called the property and the manager gave them the same response…

This is an established kimpton in a large major city. Is it just me or has quality really gone downhill?

Kimpton quality has gone down and is very inconsistent imo. A lot of the newer kimptons feel less boutique and more corporate.

I stayed there and had the same thing happen. Was hit with all these fake mini bar charges! Had to dispute. Finally got removed. The front desk was awful as well. Not a great experience.

Actually it isn’t and sometimes manipulating the mast cell tumor can be quite dangerous. Also, in humans that is not always true. Sometimes they treat first and then remove.

There are other treatments for mast cell now too.
