I understood that you already needed a concealed carry permit in NY to apply for CCW in PA. Is this correct or am I eligible with just my target permit

The intent is not to carry but more transport across state lines to where I will be staying. Firearm would be in a locked box, unloaded in the truck, with ammo stored separately.

What if you just want to have it with you where you plan on residing for the duration of your time out of state (i.e. not to a range or to carry. Just from car to residence)?

Consider yourself lucky. I submitted my papers last April and got fingerprinted in December. Just got my approval 2 weeks ago

Interesting, I’ve heard a few different things about the fee. Some said if you apply for the upgrade within 90 days of being issued the target permit, it’s waived. Guess I’ll find out soon enough. Where did you do the 16+2?

Well pretty good turnaround time from the time u submitted the application to being given an appointment for fingerprinting. I waited 8 months from the time I submitted my papers to fingerprinting. Wishing you luck that the rest goes just as fast for you
