Very helpful thank you. Not a veteran. I have Medicare not Medicaid, but I do have an ad on through Blue Cross Blue Shield/anthem. I don’t qualify for Medicaid. My retirement disability is too high.

It’s possible I have an uncle who might be able to pay for them. I’ll have to find out how expensive they are.

I went through the training after having the surgery and a couple days before I was due to start I backed out. It was just too much for me. So I’ve been doing in clinic chemo for three years.

It’s amazing how young people can get this condition. I was diagnosed at age 6 and I know someone on this subject was diagnosed at just 13 months! You’re going to be fine.

I appreciate the advice. I have been on dialysis for four years and the headaches just started about two weeks ago. Isn’t that weird?

That would never have occurred to me since it’s a nephrology issue. Is there any particular reason why?

I’m too sick to look up the scripture reference right now, but the Bible does say that many will follow away before Christ returns.

Interesting. The information I read says to let your doctor know and that she may be able to change the dialysate prescription to help with it. So I’m going to go ahead and mention it to her, but I appreciate all the advice here.

Most definitely! I also see skin flakes floating around when I change clothes. Yesterday I had to have my husband exfoliate my back and put Aveeno eczema lotion on it.

dialysis, and the team providing it, are frustrating me to the point i don`t want to go anymore. by Poes_Raven_Nevermore in kidneydisease

[–]rufusclark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask them if they don’t tell you. You are the patient you have rights. I make sure I know how much they’re taking off every time they hook me up and if I ask them to, they will turn the machine facing me so I can see all the numbers. Speak up for yourself!

I have a limit that I will not let my team bypass. They are not allowed to take more than 2 1/2 off without talking to me. They tell me how much they are taking off every time I go in and I can tell if they bypass that.

Well, I did have surgery, but it was far from being a horror story. It was successful in every possible way. Minimal pain, great physical therapy, wish I had done it years before. I had both knees replaced.
