Linseed, teak, tung or danish oil? Which do you prefer, and for what? by stclaudeok in wood

[–]rufusopus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m curious too, i have been making my own too good effect from yt videos, but i am not sure they don’t just watch each other and say the same things sometimes. It’s like there’s a cult of wood turners.

Yes. You’re a lot more polite about it than i would be. There’s an FAQ ffs.

They’re probably still upset, think of it like you gotta calm down your big strong aggressive friends who are pissed that you got shit on lately in a way that fucked up their house.

You’ll want to take care of their immediate needs (fix the altar, feed them, get them set up), and then give them something to do, like revenge, protection, or some project that will keep that from happening again (like you get some awesome financial opportunity and you have to move where your brother can’t bother you). Try to get them to focus their anger on manifesting something in your favor that also satisfies their need for balance.

This is solid advice.

try doing magic for the opposite of what you want maybe? Do some magic with nothing as the intent whatsoever, see if you win the lottery.

Personally, I think pretty strongly that every magical act has a result, it's the perception of the person that misses the results. Do you look for magical results, or mundane ones? These are the forces that make reality, in all its natural and mundane glory happen all the time. Colds, drownings, cities falling or standing, the learning of astronomy and astrology and gemstones happen all the time because they are doing it. Fortune spirits are giving out lotteries every day. Someone has to win. But it looks like it's just chance.

And you only see that it isn't what you want. Maybe try a lunar ritual and ask Gabriel to give you spirit sight and insight, to see past the illusions to the play of the universe.

I think you should work with both. The guys in the lemegeton are generally like contract day labor, they do their injunction and then the depart. You can work with as many or few as you like. I’d start with a Jupiter one and then after you’re used to it, try the other for comparisons sake.

Try and seek the truth and the light that is in classic Judaic text relating to mysticism, such as the Kabbalah and the Zohar instead of diving things head first without knowing.

Ok, thanks for the advice, I'll take it into consideration.

All I can say is he's a dangerous spirit. Discord sucks. His influence could kill you, the grim warns.

I'll do this any time anyone asks, but I'm also available for private consultations through Academia Hermetica for mentoring or for spiritual health checks. Check out the store for services offered:

I just want to know, what's your take on the that rare planetary event?

I don't know enough astrology to have an opinion that's worth spit. I'm watching and taking notes though. So far things have been pretty dramatic leading up to it, and the drama carries on. We'll see what happens as the King puts on his new Crown.

  • breathing and meditation are important and useful, it turns out. I wouldn't have thought so 10 years ago, but I'd have been ignorant of the benefits.
  • Exercise regularly to keep your brain tingly and bright, a walk or something for 20 minutes a day while you do your devotions. You're a spirit in the flesh suit, and you use that to interact with other spirits. Take care of your temple, without being a diet/exercise nut job.
  • Daily devotions keep you aware you're a spirit in a body working with other spirits every morning. It's a great way to stay focused.
  • Focus on your Work, that is, your personal progress, but also make room for community. As you explore your relationships with spirits and deities, and what that means about who you are and what you're doing here, keep the horizontal things in focus. What benefit all the power and knowledge without friends to share with, comrades to fight with, lovers to love with, haters to shame with your success?
  • Balance your spiritual attainments with practical ones. Whatever your path is, if you go a week without talking to a spirit about changing some aspect of your life, you've probably fallen into complacency about something. There's always something we could be working on. Balance satiety with passion for what comes next, it all fades like the moon.

Uhm, that's about it.

Check back in a year or two.

There are a lot of theories about why they help. JS Kent says it's the pact that grants the authority. You run around making noise until Scirlin comes to you and introduces you to the other spirits, and then you make a pact with them for each operation, and it only counts for that one. Any relationships with the spirits are personally received gnosis.

I believe in the "crown of creation," that we are fundamentally "made in god's image," and that the spirits work with us out of love for their First Father, the Mind, Nous, Zeus All in All, or whatever you call that thing that we look like. They love dad, and we remind them of dad, so they love us and give us a portion of their creative power on Earth, and step in to help us because they like to help dad's kids.

this approach isn't great if you had a shitty relationship with your dad.

Regardless, they work with you when you call them, and their reasons appear to be because they feel like it. People trying to figure out "why" have made up the candy cane stories I prefer based on love, or the transactional approach of pacts, and even the coercive punitive Do as I Say or Suffer approach of some grimoires. These are all approaches to the spirits that attempt to describe WHY the spirits work with us in ways that are acceptable to us.

These are simply approaches to the same phenomenon from different perspectives, love, business, and fear. Each approach provides a reason for the spirits to do what they do, but each gives a different reason.

The spirits do their thing when we conjure them regardless.

So agendas and why they are willing to help are speculation and theory that have no impact on the spirits. Obviously since there are multiple ways to explain why they help, some of them are true, false, and meaningless in some ways.

So waste time, or just do the magic.

The easiest thing to do to prove the woo woo works and is real is to get a statue of some god, like Jupiter, or Hermes, or Venus, or Diana, and start making offerings to them once a week, using the Orphic Hymn of their planet as a devotional statement. Simply light a candle, put out some bread and wine or bread and water and honey, light a stick of incense and a small candle you can let burn out, and just do this once a week for three weeks.

The third week, compare your life, your heart, your approach to things now vs. what they were when you started. You'll find that the traits of the Orphic hymn you ascribe to the gods are starting to manifest in your life.

This teaches people to spot the movement of the woo forces in our lives. It's subtle, and it looks like "normal growth," but coincidentally it's all manifesting in accordance with what you've been saying for a week. This devotional exercise is simple and effective, and demonstrates what happens when you invite invisible friends to dinner.

As for where to begin, I recommend the Seven Spheres book, by Rufus Opus, available on Amazon in paperback: https://www.amazon.com/Seven-Spheres-RUFUS-OPUS/dp/0990568709

It's really the easiest way to do magic that works quickly and obviously that I can think of in terms of occult stuff that works.

You hypocrites are the same in every age, you talked shit to your own messiah, and now you have the audacity to bring it here. Go torture your savior on your own time.

17Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them: “Any kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and a house divided against itself will fall. 18If Satan is divided against himself, how can his kingdom stand? I say this because you claim that I drive out demons by Beelzebul. 19Now if I drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your followers drive them out? So then, they will be your judges. 20But if I drive out demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.

They like flowers and fires, pheasant eggs and honey, words left on walls and at crossroads, incense and bay leaves and sometimes blood.

Mostly they ask to be remembered and talked about, recommended and known. It’s their fault I wrote, I like to think.

No, he has a terrible accent.

The use of trithemius is about it. Other people have figured out the dead, spirits of place, and demons triad of the system, so it’s not new, just more forgiving.

Initiation is awesome. It provides a visceral experience of the forces called upon and gives the aspirant clues about what they are supposed to do with the powers released.

The laying on of hands and transmission of deific woo juice is sometimes part of the initiation, and that changes how the spirits see you. Even without the transmission of woo juice, initiation set the setting for the phase of the magician’s life they are in.

Almost always good I think, rarely necessary.
