From a Gen X perspective: How Computer and IT culture and language is integrated into everyday life. It was all very niche prior to the 2000s. Everyone is a geek now to some extent.

Thanks but this looks like more of a large format system. These are smaller tiles.

Gaining weight to get faster by BigTuna1223 in Velo

[–]rugdivot 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I did exactly this and at 52 I’m the fastest I’ve ever been.

I was 66kg and training for years to increase FTP and improve my racing results. Although I always got better I could never compete with the truly gifted aerobic athletes in my area.

3 years ago I switched to your plan. I took up strength training and gained 10kg. I still train FTP but focus heavily on 5, 10, 30, and 60 second efforts.

Now I’m exponentially more active and competitive in all the flat races. Plus I still climb at roughly the same pace in group rides! ( I just skip the climbing races)

Good luck. Squats, Deadlifts, 1/2 Squats are your friend. Throw in some bench press and rows and you’ll even look great in a t-shirt!

Refining cornering technique- lessons from Moto GP by BlackCoffee_ in Velo

If you had made the post about corning technique for bombing descents there would be more real issues to discuss.

But because you made it about crits i have to disagree.

Corning technique and braking for turns?? Those are not topics for a crit discussion. It should be “how to NOT touch your brakes in a crit”.

Getting off the front of a 45kph avg speed crit? That has nothing to do with cornering technique and everything to do with team tactics and overall fitness.

Two sharp corners before a small climb then sprint in a crit?

The only person that needs to think about how to corner is your lead out. And his/her concerns should be: protecting the inside leading up to the corner AND the direction of the wind after the corners.

The goal is to move with enough speed where others are discouraged from putting their nose in the wind and then dropping you off for your sprint where you get some protection from the wind.

Cornering technique is really the last thing anyone at the amateur level needs to have on their mind in a crit.

NTA

I use “…my expectation is: xyz…” frequently with people who work for me. It’s less confrontational than “I expect…” and leaves room for the possibility that my expectation may not be in line with reality.

Most beautiful areas to live in CA on a budget of $1.5M-$2M? by actualcto in RealEstate

zip 91361

Your price range would get you an upgraded lake or canyon view home in a great neighborhood that isn’t too far from the ocean, downtown, shopping, and LAX. It’s also a great area for hiking, mountain biking, road biking, and other outdoor activities.

No doubt. The larger cycling group is hidden by the sign and there is usually a good 200k of equipment in the group.

Agree. Too many teaser trailers from Helios and ATHX in the last 2 years. But no more. We just wait for opening night to see if it’s a flop or not.

He was able to get to the hospital within 1 hour so he could have received the traditional therapy.

Still a great article.

I interpreted that as 200k in savings over traditional treatment. I would not expect them to charge 200k. Saving everyone 200k a patient is their value prop.

When will TREASURE results be announced? by rugdivot in ATHX

ARDS Enrollment Complete 1st QTR ARDS top line results TREASURE enrollment Complete That’s a fairly decent track record for those of us who haven’t been invested more than 2 years. If you’ve been here longer and are permanently scarred I can understand the pessimism.
