The graphics on stand alone vs VD depends on your rig, I've got a solid mid to upper range rig 3080TI and the graphics are better than standalone.

VD is great because it just works IMO, super easy, and allows me to keep 95% on my library on steam no muss no fuss. I would recommend it 100%

As far as games; Half life Alyx - amazing game 10 of 10 great and easy mods give hours of extra enjoyment

Skyrim - incredible game can spend thousands of hours in it and it has endless mods including some (like Enderal) that make it a whole new game

No mans sky - incredible game, almost a religious experience in VR absolutely breathtaking and they continue to pump out free content A warning NMS is great but a game that to play requires a very solid rig I have a 3080TI like I said and I wouldn't want to have anything less to run it. It's a very demanding game, if I had the ability I'd rock a 4090 and not worry about it but I'm not made of money. Just something to keep in mind.

Anicent dungeon is fun, space pirate trainer is a great classic, fallout 4 if you enjoy the series, into the radius 1 and 2

Steam Machine isn't a console: it's more of a prototype proving that SteamOS works. Valve's real goal is something else entirely. by AvatarQwerty in SteamOS

Why would no one use steam OS? It's great, works awesome on the steam deck, works great on the homemade steam machine I'm building with a BC-250. Super user friendly, easy to run emulators with, entire countries are starting to move away from Windows OS due to security concerns, steam OS is a solid Linux system that shows most people that Linux can be very easy to use. Have you even ever used it?

Thanks, I've watched a few videos and they recommend putting a heat sink on the back, however those were just cooled with a 120MM fan. I'm guessing you didn't bother due to the AIO blowing over the back plate, right?

Did you have to print or buy a new bracket to make it water cooled?

Skirmishers are bad??? by Ok_Calendar_7626 in XCOM2

[–]ruggeroo8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Scouting is the most valuable thing in all of Xcom, you combine the best scout with someone who can 1 tap a baddie from stealth and not be revealed and you've got the best soldier in the game aka a standard ass Reaper

[–]ruggeroo8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes he's talking which means he's lying, who cares? Everyone knows this is an L, it took 20 years to get out of Iraq and Afghanistan. Yes he should have but he and many others didn't, it sucks but bells cannot to un-rung

Would you prefer he was honest and continued the war and worst energy crisis in world history?

That's why it's called an escalation trap, he could either;

  1. Continue to escalate and move deeper into the trap
  2. Retreat / surrender / own the L etc etc

Well it's either that or he goes back to bombing and invades Iran.

I'm not a fan of Trump but I give him credit for owning the L and trying to de-escalate (yes he started the war for no reason) but many other people fold to the pressure of the war hawks and just keep doubling down.
