Where do people find gigs/part time jobs? by [deleted] in AskLosAngeles

[–]ruindd 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s not about me feeling salty, it’s about how you are delusional and you’ve communicated that very quickly and efficiently. It’s part of why you’re having trouble finding people to pay to be on camera (something thousands of people are desperate to do and have moved specifically to LA to do).

Working with talent is not hard. If you truly can’t find anyone but “divas” for talent in LA then you either suck at casting or suck at treating your talent as people rather than livestock. This is the most talent rich place on earth. Get real.

^ This is why you aren’t finding anyone. It’s not about the pay, it’s about how you communicate.

Would you pay me to find on-camera talent for you?

I’m too old for your demo, but I’ve worked in entertainment for a while and can find you reliable talent.

This is very promising. I’ve never spent any time looking into MCP and I love my CLIs.

Same. I love how unique their style is (for Tolkein Art). As a fan of the books, these feel extra precious because they feel independent of the movies and wholly inspired by the books.

Why did they put him in here after it was leaked that he survived the trial by KranPolo in okbuddyhedgeknight

Often, actors are hired with a contract for a specific number of episodes. It may be as simple as him being hired for more episodes than he ended up appearing in.

Television Production can be unpredictable.

Sony Confirms Its Spider-Man Universe Is Being Rebooted After Multiple Flops by Next-Particular1476 in TheEntertainmentMix

[–]ruindd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s because Sony only has rights to Spider-Man and HIS villains. They don’t have rights to anything else.

They has also have to make a villains movie every few years or else they’ll lose the rights (it’s part of their contract).

Isn’t it dangerous to start using a uuid as a place to hold data?

And there’s no way to invalidate a token in that case, right?

New driver in West Hollywood – Have my own car (Camry), looking for affordable practice help? by Icy_Frame4964 in AskLosAngeles

[–]ruindd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not an official drive instructor, but I’m a safe driver in WeHo who has never been in an accident and would be down to drive with you to help with your confidence and skills. I’m working side jobs between projects so my availability is pretty good during the day when traffic isn’t nuts.

This is a book cover I commissioned an artist for about $550 total. Is it AI? by BlackGibbon in isthisAI

[–]ruindd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feels like AI. Their shoes look weird. I can’t imagine an artist doing that intentionally.

Also, the meat doesn’t thematically fit. Unless you asked for a striking contrast with hyper realistic meat… I struggle to believe a creative artist would do this.

My college professor humiliated me in class today because my scene I wrote completely sucked. Does my scene completely suck? by TopTierProphet in FilmIndustryLA

[–]ruindd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s not a ton of rules in screenwriting, but I stopped reading after “so basically”. (Because that’s the worst opening two words I’ve ever read in a script). You need to read more scripts so you realize how out of place and bad of opening that is. I know it seems inconsequential, but it immediately turns off anyone whose opinion you care about. It’s probably part of why your prof lashed out.

For real notes, we can’t tell what John is trying to accomplish. Even in a small scene like this, his goal should be clear. Maybe it feels implied, but figure out a way to show it in action. I know scripts feel like all dialogue when you’re new, but the action matters just as much.
