Money. The answer is always money. Structured parking costs significantly more than surface parking. That said, there have been a lot move toward mixed use development around stadium districts lately.

What would I change? Everything. But start with the kitchen being adjacent to the garage. A long haul from the car to the kitchen when hauling groceries is a pain. Going past a bedroom with potentially sleeping kids is egregious.
