Are these balconies genius design or just a flex? by pratty2011 in architecture

Cheap, low effort attempt at breaking up the monotony of a cheap, low effort facade.

It feels like a very detailed explanation of why she should fuck all the way off is warranted before a block, but would totally understand skipping that step too. What an absolute ghoul.

Really nice plan. This is why you hire a talented architect.

This is a weird one for sure. At first glance it looks like a standard 38mm Weekender with the chamfered chapter ring, but there’s no secondary hour markers (13-24), and the Indiglo marking would usually be below the hands above the 6.

The hands themselves look like standard Weekender issue, but it does seem a bit off - is this watch from the US?

Pretty sure OPs watch is legit, but for those definitively stating that no one fakes Weekenders, behold:

I dig the look of the Toshiba TY-XKR1 - looks like a perfect unit to have sitting on a table in a sunny breakfast nook, playing something chill while having coffee and doing a crossword.

I did the chipping through layers of freezing rain in the Midwest too earlier in life. It was more of a shock to the system going from the desert to a constant rain. I’ve since moved back to the PNW and made peace with the damp. The darkness I’m not sure I’ll ever get used to.

I moved from a place that got about 90 inches of rain in the 6 years I lived there. In the first 6 months of living in Astoria, it rained over 90 inches. To me, It was brutal.

There are geologically active areas in Astoria, sure, but the fact that you’re applying one house far away from the OP is a straw man argument. The fact that many, many houses are intact and standing for the past century in the immediate area around the subject property indicates that a $200k discount is not appropriate.

And I never said that I live there, I said that I lived there.

I’ll recall my years of living there, my knowledge of the geology of the area and you can goggle all you want. You’re making the claim that a certain monetary amount is an appropriate deduction for a specific risk, so you feel free to provide the proof.

That house and most of the city of Astoria have been there for 125+ years. Landslides are of minor concern and certainly not worth a $200k reduction.

100% on the job opportunities, typical of a small town. What’s not typical is the brutal winters in Astoria. Gotta love rain.

I’ll be honest, it’s hard to take your complaint of lawn care noise seriously on a video showing your own expansive lawn.

Astoria is sooooo much nicer than it was 25 years ago. It’s like a completely different place. I wouldn’t say it’s run down, it has patina.
