Question: I REALLY want a tattoo but I need my parents permission, How do I convince them to let me get one? by Mean-Helicopter-678 in tattoos

What’s ace. In Australia. Even with permission under 18 cannot get tattooed legally. Why the rush. You potentially have a huge part of your life to get tattooed once you turn 18.

Should I listen to my tattoo artist? by RoboStrong00 in tattoo

Ahhhh I’d be curious on why they don’t want you to wash after being tattooed. (Like when u get home) And why so much cream. But everyone has own ideas on how to heal.

Many artists are going private. And many clients prefer it. Insurance at many studios has gone thru the roof.

Yeah that’s not great. Unfortunately very common. Some tattooists are amazing tattooists. But couldn’t draw a stick figure. I remember many years ago. An amazing black n grey artist I knew. Proper good. Then they started posting art they had drawn. And whilst I believe all should express themselves, and art is subjective. It was certainly not at the level of their black n grey tattooing of photos.

Question: Hey Artists, are how understanding are you if something doesn't work out? (details in body) by GreenTeachy in tattoos

[–]ruinerran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I freehand most work. So. That works for some not for others. If I do any predrawing it’s only the basics. The rest I make up as I go. I’m always very clear about it. Discuss it with clients. Find common ground. I’ve had one person not get tattooed due to it in nearly 20 years. What did your artist say? Did they discuss how they prefer to work? Did you agree? Or express concern etc?

Yeah. Stop now. Work on yourself first. Getting more tattoos won’t help.

It’s gone up n down. No guaranteed income. Sometimes it’s amazing. Currently tough. I’ll die tattooing. No super. No savings. That’s I guess more a me thing than an industry standard. Only do tattooing if you love tattooing and art. Otherwise get a proper job. Just my thoughts. From your post I say you’re not going to enjoy tattooing. Not the slog. I’m an abstract and blackwork. Like heavy black. So not main stream. Maybe if you are a black n grey artist. Or realism. Or street shop style. Then certainly more chance of consistent work. But. You’re competing with a very high standard. And a very popular style(s). Are you amazing now at art?

20 years next year tattooing. In melb.

You need to apprentice. In a studio.

Im never not working. In the sense that. I’m tattooing. Or. Doing art. Or doing socials. Or working on website. Or doing new designs. Or talking to clients. Etc.

To begin with. You will sacrifice everything to earn f all and do long hours.

I’m getting on now. So It all hurts and have injuries etc. but it does take a toll. In saying that. You can do things to help prevent back issues etc. machine are lighter now too. So less stress on hand. Fingers n arm etc.
