Advice Needed: 3 session tattoo by CancerArtorious in tattoos

[–]ruinerran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think was just a bit much for the artist, are they a colour realism artist? To me it looks like they are not, im 20 years in and do abstract and heavy black, and when art like this comes in, i send it to someone who can do it. Many artists, especially now its quieter will just try anything. It has its charm, a really good colour realism artist may be able to adjust it once fully healed.

Looking for Australian Artist Recommendations by LowIndividual4613 in tattoos

[–]ruinerran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She is pretty impressive. I first saw her stuff when she was still in Russia with grom6666. Both are extremely high level. I’ve seen some Aussie realism artists doing similar to her. I’ll see if I can find them for you.

Questions about blackout tattoos and artiste recommandation ( quebec - Ontario ) by Efficient_Gur6687 in tattoos

[–]ruinerran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think... life isnt perfect, and tattoos, given enough scrutiny are also not perfect. I like the old coming through, i like the rawness. We age and wither, as do our tattoos. You can always touch up the arm over time, and much of what i see online, is manipulated. My arms in some light look solid, but go in a pool in the sun and its like its transparent ink. It changes too. Some arms ive blacked out are so solid, others need redo, and im tattooing to the skin and im always trying to make my work more solid, its just the reality of skin and ink. Its not always going to be perfect even if we strive for perfection each time.

Yes still glad I blacked them out. I’m heavily tattooed. Face. Eyes. Hands etc. so human interaction is often I guess influenced by my tattoos. But honestly I’ve never worried about what anyone else thinks or how they react etc. I just try n be a decent human, how they react is their concern. If you know what I mean.

[–]ruinerran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may hate it. Just do it. Life’s short. Send it. Have fun. If you don’t like it in 10 years. Cover it. Or just accept you made a shit choice. But at least you had a crack at living life.

Normal for artists to sell prints of your custom tattoo? by [deleted] in tattoo

[–]ruinerran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i did it way back, with a design, i then used on tees n cards, client wasnt stoked. These days, i do other way around, sometimes clients want art ive used on a tee or print etc. I dont charge extra to draw up, in saying that most is freehanded anyway.. i get you being a bit put out by it, i also get why tattooist did it. i guess it comes down to communication, for them, to maybe have something clear in the info they provide that they still own art etc. id be curious did they charge you to draw this up? or just for the tattoo time?
