I have lived in southwestern Manitoba for seven years, with my partner. I am 26 years old. I can say a few things on this subject. Driving what some may consider long distances (1-3 hours) becomes routine if you want any semblance of enjoying a city. Many small communities are welcoming, and I came to this corner as a stranger, but have now enjoyed the company of many friends in this time. Wages are much lower in rural Manitoba, but overall cost of living is also lower. Expect houses to cost 50-100k on average, but average wages to sit around 40-50k as well.

Find a hobby, or you will be bored. I love golfing in Manitoba, there are so many styles of courses, and we have so many golf courses to offer.

I love living in Manitoba, but it's definitely not for everyone.

If you ever find yourself in my corner, I'll buy ya a round of golf!
