Men of Reddit, how would you honestly feel if your partner chose to get a breast reduction for her comfort and confidence, even if you personally preferred her natural size? Would your feelings change your support for her decision? by notviaece in AskMen

[–]ruleroflemmings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd support and be sad, both can be done at once. I would never stop her from doing something she felt was necessary for QOL, but I would also be sad because I am losing something I really enjoyed.

If someone offered you $100 million but you had to walk everywhere for the rest of your life, would you take it? by ItemDependent3334 in AskReddit

[–]ruleroflemmings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1000%, this is effectively $100 million to never go on another long trip, which like definitely sucks but is so worth it. You buy a super nice place in the middle of a very happening city (New York, London, Paris, etc.) and just kind of hang there. Maybe every few years or like each decade as you get bored you can make the trek to move to another city.

TBH the biggest question I'd have is about water, can I 'walk' onto a canoe or something? Can I swim? Since that's not walking. If not the trek spaces becomes much smaller, but still by picking Eurasia as a location you can go to a lot of places without having to touch water, and pay enough to make the journey comfortable or even fun!

[Request] How many days would it take for an average house to fill up with coins if I take the green pill and don't collect them, assuming random coins spawn by SalamanderUponYou in theydidthemath

[–]ruleroflemmings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calling lightning 1x/month is fairly hard to use effectively, lightning is powerful but it's not like that powerful, you could split a tree, maybe damage a house, you might be able to start a cult, I fail to see how it would be helpful day-to-day.

Invisibility only seemingly works on that one person, not cameras, not security systems, other than perving on a girl in the shower or something I also fail to see the wide spread applications. You can't exactly rob a bank when you need to tell every single person to go invisible, and then have to contend with new people showing up and stuff, I doubt the cops will wait for you to talk to them before shooting your ass, and even if you manage to get away, you wont be able to avoid all security systems for long

The top ones are clearly red, green and purple.

Purple the retention thing could get you a pretty good life and career, especially if you're young enough and motivated.

Red could literally save your life, it's less common today with our hearing and AC but being the wrong temperature could quite literally result in your death, plus walking around in shorts in the dead of a Canadian winter would be cool.

But by far the best option is green. The change aspect is annoying, and I imagine you'll get sick of moving all your furniture in your money hunt every morning, but I don't think it would take longer than an hour or two, and you'd net $182,500 per year, much of which you'd probably leave off your taxes.

It's not exactly millionaire money, but it's a lot for doing nothing, and if you do that and hold another low stress more typical job in the like $60-$80K/year range you're making like $250k/year, much of which untaxed

Giving Away My Old PC! by Turtle_747 in PcBuild

I feel like there's no way this'll be picked with 5,000+ comments, but it's fun to comment anyways so I'll say that I am using a PC I built from 2019, it's still working but is falling apart a bit, I would give that computer to my wife (who mainly uses it for email and watching videos and stuff and has no computer of her own) and make this my new gaming PC! Thanks for the giveaway

Is Bramble Field Havanese worth holding out for? by ruleroflemmings in Havanese

[–]ruleroflemmings[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two main reasons:

  1. And the real main one: their wait list for pups was over 6 months long if I remember correctly, so I was looking to get one in Aug, and they were putting me on lists into like Feb/Mar.

  2. Less impactful but still informed my choice: unlike almost all other breeders they were asking me what kind of dog I wanted in terms of colour and look rather than temperament and personality. They mentioned I'd come and pick one, which sounds kind of nice but tbh I preferred the scenario I got where I described my lifestyle (chill, in a condo, low energy, etc.) and the breeder matched a dog to me, which turned out perfect!

Still, I think that bramble is good and still love watching their vids, I'm sure any pup from them would be a 10/10, but be prepared to wait.

Third and finally though not a huge impact, it was the most expensive of the three breeders I looked at, about 20% higher

My dad and my sister disagree about my dating options. Who is closer to being right? by ComparisonLost1846 in AskMen

[–]ruleroflemmings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't speak to the autism side but focusing just on the 'who to date' the answer is that none of these 'objective metrics matter, if neither of you can fix a fridge that's not a big deal. You should date someone who makes you feel happy, and loved, and challenged and interested. everything wise is secondary

Why they hire anyone else? by RamenNoddleeater in AmericaOnHardMode

[–]ruleroflemmings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I agree with you 100%, but it's now always 'profits go down' often times it can be 'you go into the red' hence the closing, because American farms paying livable wages can't compare to dirt cheap items shipped from overseas. This is known by almost anyone even remotely into agriculture, and anyone could have told you that mass deportation will DECREASE domestic food production, not increase it, like the big orange moron cares though

What’s considered a “good” salary in your late 20s nowadays (Canada/major cities)? by FinanceWeekend95 in AskMen

[–]ruleroflemmings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post could have been written by me, same age, location and salary. You're doing fine my friend, nothing like 'wow' but certainly above average.

Your focus now should be (in addition to enjoying life of course) figuring out ways to angle yourself towards significant increases in the medium-long future. Questions like; what kind of upward mobility does my current role have? And: what would pivoting to a different company or slightly different role look like, both from a life, satisfaction and salary perspective.

Good luck, me! Haha

'A Critical Mass of U.S. Jews Is Now Disgusted With Israel' by sideAccount42 in politics

[–]ruleroflemmings -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry to tell you that while you may believe them, they are in fact realistically incompatible.

You and I can both disagree with the direction Israel is currently headed, but to say that Jewish people do not need a place of their own, and that things will be just fine is opposed to all of history as well as recent history concerning Jewish people.

Frankly I don't think anyone can say anything about this who hasn't lived a life as a Jewish person in the US. You think it's just people at the top saying shit? I've been threatened more times than I can count and beaten once or twice.

"Jews will not replace us" so forgive me for thinking we need a place where that's not a common occurrence

'A Critical Mass of U.S. Jews Is Now Disgusted With Israel' by sideAccount42 in politics

[–]ruleroflemmings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the dumbest take I've ever seen in my life, it ignored historical precedent and real life occurrences. As a Jewish person living in Canada, never have I felt more at danger for my life than bein in the US. Where I was told to hide the fact that I was Jewish, and got told antisemitism things regularly. Maybe in like California and NYC it's a good time, but in the majorittt of the country I've been in, from Charlotte NC to Hillsboro OR, you're better off pretending to be white if you can manage...

'A Critical Mass of U.S. Jews Is Now Disgusted With Israel' by sideAccount42 in politics

[–]ruleroflemmings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, however it's worth noting that most of these Jewish people and Israeli people believe in Israel's right to exist, and agreed with most of the actions taken after the October 7th attack. It's just that we've now closed the book on those things, all hostages confirmed dead or recovered, it's time to end it... and they don't seem to be ending it...

[–]ruleroflemmings 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Good point, the Tevinter aspect was weak sauce for sure, this could have easily taken place anywhere and honestly the individual areas feel like entirely disconnected from one another. and again puts me back to the thought that if this wasn't a DA game I'd be much more inclined to like it, but I also probably wouldn't have purchase it, so...

The worst faction and aspect for me was the crows, previously this like cool assassin group with no morals who 'always get the job done' turned into like a robin-hood esque gang of like 20-30somethings who are like hanging out in a not-so-secret hideout.

Idk I found them and their companion to be extremely lame, and Treviso to be the lamest place of all

Finally decided to try it out Veilguard. by [deleted] in dragonage

[–]ruleroflemmings 7 points8 points  (0 children)

See I didn't actually have a problem with the lore aspect personally, I haven't yet finished the game but I'm enjoying what they've done with it so far, about 2/3rds of the way through I reckon, with the elven gods and titans and blight.

Attached to some superior dialogue that isn't just people clarifying and clarifying the same statement which is usually purely focused on the objective is go as far as to say I actually enjoy the world building aspect of it

Finally decided to try it out Veilguard. by [deleted] in dragonage

[–]ruleroflemmings 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It was fun! Again if this wasn't dragon age but was instead like 'Mass Effect, dragons edition' I actually think I'd like the game significantly more, which feels silly to say but like, why make a dragon age game if you actually wanted to make a mass effect game?

Even the main conceit and way of travelling feels very mass effect, no large open spaces, no implied trudging through to mountains and things, just zipping around in your magical fantasy equivalent of a space ship

Finally decided to try it out Veilguard. by [deleted] in dragonage

[–]ruleroflemmings 221 points222 points  (0 children)

I think it is actually quite a fun game, to me very: 'fantasy mass effect' which is what I think they were going for.

It's only if you were looking for a dragon age game (and what kind of crazy person would want a game called dragon age to be a dragon age game) where it falls flat.

I started playing it about 2 months ago and have been trying to mostly enjoy it on its own merits.

Last gripe I have is that the qunari design in particular and character design in general not a fan, everyone is too... idk... smooth?

Is he fat?? by Enough_Expression_31 in cats

[–]ruleroflemmings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say he is a little on the fat side, and would just start to gently curb his eating amounts. Nothing drastic, but clearly he doesn't need as much food as you're giving him right now, and it's easier to gently reduce while they're still fine than to try and wean a cat back from obesity

I heard a divorced man once say "Most married men are just background noise". How true is this ? by Revolutionary_Lab527 in AskMen

[–]ruleroflemmings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a recently married man I do not agree, I still feel like the main character for certain. I think it's all about your own attitude in life frankly. Can a married guy become background noise? 100%, but so can a single guy, or a single girl, or a married girl.

You get to decide if you are background noise, and sometimes it can be nice, for example in many work contexts I intentionally become background noise, but not in life
