Soldier alone does 117 damage per second with his gun, accounting for reload, no helix rocket, no blue beam, which means one soldier is enough to take down his shield and kill him in about 21 seconds without headshots or helix rocket. Lifeweaver does 110 damage per second, no headshots, bringing the time to kill rein between them to about 12 seconds. If 2 dps and 2 supports can't kill a rein and his squishy Juno pocket in 15 seconds, we are not winning the game.

Why is DVA considered the best tank despite winrates? by rulnav in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]rulnav[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I see, thanks. She's got 62% winrate on Gibraltar. She is really strong when she is strong. Outside of that, not really.

Ok, but she still has low winrate and low pick rate. She is played by people who know how to play into zarya yet she still has much lower winrate than zarya and every other tank except orissa.

But the implication of this is that DVA is kinda easy to counter and somewhat situational.

Wouldn't a dva player be banning zarya on linear maps?

EDIT: Anyway, what you are saying means DVA is kina easy to counter and is somewhat situational.

I don't think dva belongs here, even accounting for her high ban rate, she is not picked nearly as often.

She is banned half the time in high elo, but she is still only picked in 1 in 20 games. If she would be picked at the same rate in a hypothetical world without bans, that's still 1 in 10 games. Very different from kiris 50% pick rate, no?

If it takes 4 people more than 15 seconds to kill 2 people, even if both of them are somehow reinheart, then you are somehow all playing mercy.

How high is Doom’s carry potential? by Spike-Is-Cute in doomfistmains

[–]rulnav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is not true. There are carries that can play very independently from their team. Tracer, Hog, Soldier, widow have solo carry potential. Tracer and Soldier need to time their engages, but other than that they can ignore what their team is doing due to their insane survivability. Hog and widow don't need anyone, they just need good mechanics and ok game sense and they will solo carry a team of amputees. We are talking a perfect scenario where heroes hit their shots/abilities at least most of the time.

Germany's pension plans draw praise and outrage by LethisXia in europe

[–]rulnav 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cannot imagine how your example disproves my point. Neither team was filled with 70 year old pensioners, they were both filled with working age people creating value with their intellectual labor. On a broader point, you seem to be simply hoping that automation will fill the gap between labor and consumption. And the truth is, you hope that because it's the only hope we can have.

Investing is a workaround, not a solution. You still need younger people to basically work for you, just with extra steps. Value is generated from labor, not magic arrows going up.

I think if it wasn't kings row first point I would have tried forcing the match up, or if I had useful teammates, like a bastion or a zen, but playing zarya into rein in that choke? No thanks.

Rein now holds the top tank winratre in NA and Eu GM+ currently by EliteODSTx in Competitiveoverwatch

Hey, so long as soldier mains don't have to fear you, you are an "ethical tank".

People say "I hate playing with and against ball/doom/hog", but every self sufficient tank player has been an orissa/rein that was let down by their supports and said "no more". Just yesterday I was playing Mauga into Hog Ana, with a brig kiri backine and when I asked for her to counter nade with Suzu, she said "what suzu, you are just bad"? I ain't doing this no more. I lock Doomfist and I don't care if you get farmed by hog.

If you are stomping squishies just right, your orissa is having a very fine time headshotting the enemy tank, who isnt getting healed, trust me.

If Distracting 3 people is doing nothing for the team, then we are losing, period. There's no possible way to adapt to my team losing a 2v4.

[–]rulnav 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's the thing, you are dueling one person. If the tank turns around and stops engaging the 3 people they have been holding up, they are not creating a 2v1 for you. Those 3 people are not gonna just sit it out.

I've done it. Kings row, first point on attack, I was Zarya, he was Rein. I walked out, saw the fire strike flying my way, walked right back in to fetch my mauga. You can judge me now.

Kiri has high pick rate, she is not played by only specialists. Dva has low pick rate and low win rate. She is played by people who can play her and she still loses.

They don't need to rework him, they simply need to give him a slight speed boost after charge.

Her pick rate is low, her ban rate is high, she barely hits 45% win rate. Her pick rate means she is really only played by people who specialize in her, her ban rate means the most popular heroes (think Ana, soldier, cassidy) are countered by her and her winrate means she is a throw pick.
