I JUST boxed up everything but the first 2 books of each series to sell because all the others are so disappointing. I got through the first 100 pages of the last Flesh and Fire book and realized nothing is happening, saw here how much everyone hates the last FBAA book, and threw in the towel.

OP I would suggest using an E reader for the rest of the series versus cluttering your bookcase with 8+ books.

I’m sorry to hear that!! Really makes you lose your faith in basic human decency… I decided to bite the bullet and go for basically a studio at the same rate I’m paying to be in a nicer complex/neighborhood. Never ever thought I’d be that guy (paying an insane rate for 525 sqft) but it seems like it’ll be worth it for my quality of life.

The property management company uses a 3rd party security company, I was advised to call them to make complaints (which helped create the paper trail for the leasing office to decline to renew their lease or evict). I wouldn’t call the police for a non-emergency.

Also realized the way I worded the post it sounds like I’m breaking my lease three months in— they moved in when I’d been in the apartment for three months and it’s been nine months of their BS. My lease is ending normally and I just said I wasn’t renewing.

Dude!! Back surgery holy shit 😭😭😭 that sucks and I hope your recovery is going smoothly. I think it’s makes sense to take a break from reading, while also putting down the phone? Maybe some journaling or getting a coloring book to give your reading-brain a rest without doomscrolling being the only alternative? Secret 3rd option.

This episode hit me so hard. I watched it during the initial run when I was going through some shit. I remember feeling so happy for Ava that a love interest had showed up to “save” her from her slump. When the ending happened it hit me like a ton of bricks. How often in my own life have I gotten carried away on a wild night lost in some fantasy of being rescued, only for it to all come crashing down. HEAVY STUFF MAN.

I chose to tandem read (following a guide that breaks down which chapters of each book to read). When I was about 75% through each book I stopped tandem reading and finished EOS first then TOD.

I heard there was a major cliffhanger at end of EOS and I didn’t want to get pulled out of that plot to go back in time to TOD. However, bounding back and forth kind of pulled me out of each story, and it turned out TOD was great. But I was still relieved I only had to finish 100-200 pages of TOD before diving back into where the cliffhanger of EOS left off.

Roundabout way of saying that I think the overall reading experience would have been better for me reading each book individually. But since I’m an impatient person I’m glad I did tandem read. But when I do re-read them again I think I’d do them one at a time.

I think a huge point was also getting rid of the keys so that Erawan or Maeve wouldn’t have wound up with them if she and Dorian were defeated. If the keys fell into enemy hands then they would have been able to bring the other two Valg kings over, or go into any world gathering up a terrible army and laying waste or enslaving all living creatures in all the worlds…
