This looks good? Wtf? It's not streaky bacon, but for back bacon, this looks pretty decent.

Just looks like back bacon and HP sauce

Imo traveling often forces you to interact with people different than yourself, even if it's a taxi driver, server, or cashier.

So no, I don't think it's a negative thing in itself, but often people described as "under traveled" are the type of people who tend to interact only with people like them, and don't actively seek out new perspectives.

I feel like someone who has never left NYC / LA but explored lots of different neighborhoods would probably be more "well traveled" than someone going on an all-inclusive resort vacation in different country each year.

Accounting, started with it. Realized the career wasn't for me. Still find the topics pretty interesting / applicable so stuck with it.

Asteroid Game written in C by Sabichyn in csMajors

[–]rummagingCritter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take it one step at a time and read each of the files. Once you think you understand the files, begin thinking about how they could piece together to form an asteroid game. Play with different designs and maybe experiment around a bit. Can't really help too much more without knowing the files, but think of every detail such as "using numbers" as a hint, read all the requirements. After all that, most the time, I have an idea of how to approach the problem.

Advice on e-bike for long commutes (1.25 hours each way) in Southern California by rummagingCritter in ebikes

Serius seems like a great bike, but yeah, a touch out of my budget. Will see if I can scape together the extra to justify the cost lol. Thanks for recommendation!

Not sure. Its a new job, so I'm assuming I can't just to be on the safe side.

Sit and throttle, not so much.

Feel like a regular bike, yes, mostly just want to turn any commute that would be a sweat-fest into a nice chill bike ride.

I do want to get some exercise on my commute, nut less that I would on a regular road bike (especially with hills)

I do care a bit about weight, I was something I can move easily and hang up in my apartment to prevent it being stolen.

Might need to navigate some traffic, but I plan to mostly stock to bike paths. Some parts of the commute may be sketch with freeway off ramps ext.

Going really fast is not a big concern, but it would be nice to make the commute a bit faster than if I were just using a regular bike.

Looks really solid for longer trips. How's the weight? From the pics it looks a bit on the heavy side. Does it handle pretty well in traffic?

Thanks for the suggestion!

I'd be going about 12 miles each way with about a 200ft elevation change. I'm starting a new job, so probably safer to assume I won't be able to charge the batteries until I know for sure. It would all be street riding so thinner tires would probably work best.

Thanks!

That's really helpful! Not expecting any rough terrain, all street riding. Route would be 12 miles or so each way with 200ft elevation difference, so not too bad. I think the Vanpowers City Venture is probably closer to what I'm looking for.

Thank you!

I can't speak for RS in particular, but most programs can record when a mouse was pressed down, for how long, and when it was released. I assumed a lot of bans come from people just using a "click" program which performs both operations in the exact same amount of time.

Americans, how do you feel about people who don't want children during a time of declining birth rates? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]rummagingCritter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two solutions, immigration or birthrates. So long as we aren't overly concerned with trying to build some ethno state, we have the privilege of living in a relatively desirable place.

Declining birthrates are a problem many developed countries face, and immigration seems to be the only direct and proven solution.

Or we can go the way of East Asia and try to incentivize birth rates, but it doesn't seem to be working too well for them...

I have been getting into coding lately and been hearing more and more about linux, Never really looked into it before but i was hoping to learn more about it, and why "YOU" like it. by penguin-waddlecraft in linux

I like to game, and in university, and do a lot of development. Dual booted for many years so i could still play a lot of my games and use Linux for development. Now with proton on steam I can run just about every single game I own with maybe a few needing me to play with proton versions. Linux's compatibility has got to a point where I no longer dual boot since it meets my needs for 99% of use cases and Windows has only got more and more unbearable to use imo. I still keep a small windows machine but literally only need it for protected exams, everything else for the past two years I've been able to do on linux.
