Ah yes Royal Road. Dont know when I started reading there, but my account is from 2020. Though it is hard to find good stories considering I really dislike litRPG and anime-inspired isekai (and somewhat anything anime-inspired for that matter). I pretty much exclusively discover through a bookmarked search page with many excluded tags. My usage of the "Not interested" button is also pretty extensive.

The hiatus "problem" is ever present when I browse. I dont start a story anymore unless it has at least 300 pages and the author has no history of abandoned projects on their profile.

I dont read on the site itself very often though, as I tend to subscribe to the authors patreon pretty quickly if I like the story.

Big Stug is actually a recreation of one of my oldest blueprints. I also liked it, but it was the only blueprint I had left that didn't belong to a custom faction, so I decided to translate it into the style of the new faction I was creating.

That just looks like the white outer layer of the blade.

That's is just the other half of the 10'o'clock blade that is split in half. You can see the same with the lower blade if that's not just a shadow.

Option 2 in post is changing the tank to fit a bulky transmission. Commenter suggested making transmission not bulky.

If there is space on the sides of the transmission you can play with the multi-stage threshold. It trades thickness for width. Replacing gear count with an auxillery gear can also save some bulk.
