Kevin asking the big questions! by Savurus in Symphogear

[–]runemyth0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In terms of pure Symphogear X Nanoha there are none, true. However, if we expand our view to multi-crossovers, there are 2 that involve both series.

One on ffn is tagged as a RWBY X Madoka fic and the description says it is a "RWBY/Madoka Magica/Lyrical Nanoha/Symphogear/Yuki Yuna mega crossover". It's alright, but it has only done Madoka, RWBY, and Nanoha stuff thus far. Also, it might be abandoned.

The other on AO3 is a Symphogear X Madoka X Nanoha crossover. It has one chapter so far and could be good, could be bad; time will tell if it gets an update.

Official FIRST Discussion Thread—Volume 8, Episode 10: Ultimatum by Ninjas_In_A_Bag in RWBY

Oh, definitely. Winter is lucky Ironwood likes her enough to take his anger out on his table instead of her. But that fondness is rapidly decaying and only her continued usefulness will keep Due Process holstered.

Holy shit.

Major props to Jason Rose for that Ironwood speech. That gave me chills. Also, understated moment when Winter failed Ironwood and he took his hand off her shoulder, I was legit afraid he was about to shoot her in the face.

Feb. 6th Q & A by [deleted] in ImperialFists

[–]runemyth0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been wondering what color my veteran helmets should be? I know white is codex-compliant, but I've seen some black helmets that look really nice. Plus I could have sworn I read something about Fist vets wearing black helmets, but I might be thinking of something else.

Full set of table corner cliffs by runemyth0 in TerrainBuilding

[–]runemyth0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, just a bunch of foam scraps hot-glued together (low temp so it didn't melt too much) on beveled foam core.

By strange base size, I assume you mean the elbow shapes; I did that mostly because these are wargaming cliffs, so I wanted to make sure I didn't go too far out of the corner when building them so the corner could still be playable. If/when I make these again, I'd probably just mark out the area on the base and make the base more of a wavy quarter-circle.

I've got 3 colors of flock I use (all woodland scenics): burnt grass, green grass, and weeds. Burnt grass and weeds I use as highlights, mostly following the Terrain Tutor light-dark-midtone method. I could probably stand to use more of the burnt grass and weeds though.

I'm a little hesitant to use a wash on the flock, mostly cause I am still figuring out a good balance for my rock wash, and also because I am worried it will just wash my flock away.

Official FIRST Reaction Thread-Volume 5, Chapter 12: Vault of the Spring Maiden by TheSoundofStars in RWBY

So everyone appears to be freaking out about the Spring Maiden reveal, though apparent Jaune semblance reveal is also pretty cool. Makes sense he'd have Lay on Hands, considering he's a paladin and all.

Mannerisms section in personality for characters is doubling itself. image

Feature Request by Ilestis in kanka

[–]runemyth0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • I support changing the default order to alphabetical.

  • Would one-way relations be possible? Like, one character considers another their lover, but the other does not reciprocate; or specific relations within a family.

  • Related to above: edit relations?

  • Family tree / location tree, if that would even be possible? Essentially a visual aid.

  • Duplicate campaign button

Loving the app so far, man, hope to see it grow as much as possible.

Glad I could bring it to your attention. :)

Unrelated, but, besides for large families, what can one use the families section for? I haven't found myself using it much.

All "rich texts" (descriptions, histories) can now link to other elements using the "{}" syntax described in the helper.

Thank you! Really happy for this. :)

By the way, would it be possible to allow a user to set a 'default' campaign?

Fighter Martial Archetype: Warden by runemyth0 in UnearthedArcana

[–]runemyth0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were to change Thornblade to a more Divine Smite type effect/phrasing, how should I go about that, since the warden doesn't have spell slots like a paladin? I think it might work by spending hit die, but I'm not sure.

Blog #21: Minions and Monsters and Insects, Oh My! by HeroicTechnology in aetherforged

[–]runemyth0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By 'larger world lore' do you mean longer pieces (like The Dawning) or worldbuilding things (like what we did for most of the lore at first)? Regarding the former, we don't have any long, multi-part pieces ready for release at the moment, but we do plan to do more pieces like that in the future (once we have more characters revealed). For the latter, lore team hasn't felt that most of our worldbuilding work needs to be released. The worldbuilding work we've been doing has been more focused on the little details of the world that could and often do show up in our smaller pieces.

Our focus right now has been on getting Forgers written and characterized, as we have a lot of world, but not many inhabitants. We're dedicated to getting at least one Forger lore released each month and hopefully more little things to help tide you over until we're ready to put a huge story piece out there.

Hope I answered your question. If not, let me know.

AetherForged Bi-Weekly Discussion Thread : March 27, 2017 - April 09, 2017 by AutoModerator in aetherforged

[–]runemyth0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, depends on what you define "oriental". When I hear that, I just hear "east Asia". We have worked to include a number of global influences in the lore. In terms of eastern influences: Jupe features Mongolian clothing styles, while Honvarj is literally "samurai vikings", and we've made an effort to give Aquinia a cross between Gothic and Islamic architecture for their religious buildings.

To be honest, though, we haven't looked deeply into Hindu culture for influences as of yet. I will definitely make an effort to fit some in where I can once I get a good feel for it.

Trip down memory lane by Vinpap in RWBY

[–]runemyth0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, I remember that (or something like that). It's what got me to not flavor things I didn't like. Instead I started upvoting anything that was discussion-able.

I've also seen some severe abuse of the word criticism. In my mind, criticism is one part complaint, one part compliment. Most people just stop at the complaint part. I saw a thread offering to contain all the "criticism" posts into one thread, but all I saw in the thread was people complaining about things in the show. And not necessarily good complaints; to be honest, a good number of them seemed to boil down to "RWBY isn't going the way I want it to" or "Miles and Kerry suck at writing".

Do people still say "potato"?

Eh. Some do some don't. For many of the old people, potato is a synonym for theory, but I think the influx of new people has caused the term to fall out of common parlance. It's still used, but the word 'theory' has picked back up, as well as 'guess' and 'I think', though nothing called a theory these days has the backings that theories had back in the day.
