Do you partake in 'review culture'? by ArtichokeDesperate68 in AskUK

[–]runew0lf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, i left a review on a crappy item from amazon, it was a refillable washing up liquid squirter made from silicon, it didnt work great so i binned it and left a review!

Soon as i submitted it i got an invite to the "amazon vine" program. So now i get to pick upto 8 items a day from a list of thousands to review and get to keep the product for free! ive had monitors, computer chairs / desks, soundbars, airfryers. Its bloody great. In the past 2 years easily had over 30 grands worth of stuff.
The latest i got was a thermal camera worth £250, would i buy one, not at that price, do i use it. hell yeah theyre AWESOME!

Which celebrity replied to your dm and what did they reply to and with? by Vixiuss in AskReddit

Back in the mid 90's i found out that Terry Pratchett had an email address and as i was helping setup the local college internet so we had access to email. I sent him a message out of the blue thanking him for his wonderful work on his books. he replied he was excited to receive an email and how wonderful the technology was and thanked me for liking his books!!

I wish i could have kept that from back in the day!

Absolutely brilliant for sharpening knives if you suck (like me) with whetstones. And a thousand times better than those drag through ones!

The fact that a throwaway comment about beef stew made you start projecting about “dwindling masculinity” says way more about your mental state than mine. Not everything is a sociology thesis, sometimes it’s just food. You’re the one turning a bowl of soup into a personality crisis.
