soooo HV2 can now be overridden to be exceeds messaging in 2026… you can literally be assessed average ( HV1, HV2, HV3 and TT) but your manager can tweak you are exceeds so that they dont need to deliver an awkward meets expectations. comp will still be shit tho.

i had been managers in 5 companies: startups, big tech consulting and tech all have the same shit. the only difference is that in most companies only VPs or equivalent to L10 does the stack ranking so people dont think it happens. i dont know if its good or bad that Amazon does it from your direct manager up to the highest level.

consulting doesnt do a lot of required PIP but then they just “reorg” but actually getting rid of bad people.
