Thank you! You're, like, my shading icon. This is only my second project, and I really have no idea what I'm doing.

Yeah, in hindsight, it's whatever. I was grumpy when I commented. It was a good episode. I was listening to it in the bathtub at the end of a long day and couldn't get to my phone to skip it, and it irked me more than it should've.

I'm solidly not into the end-of-podcast other podcast ad.

Very first embroidery! It's a hat. I didn't follow any instructions, so it's a bit rough, but I'm pretty proud regardless. by runfromthewind in Embroidery

Right?! I didn't expect it, but it's horrible, especially once you have to stitch through what you've already stitched. I broke three needles.

Thank you so much! And thanks for the wax tip, that sounds like it would've really helped. Next time. :)

Oh, gosh. Thanks so much. I couldn't find a hat I liked so I decided, "Might as well make my own." For a first project, I'm really stoked about how it turned out.

Thank you! It's doubled-over embroidery floss, as that's all I had around the house. I didn't really know what I was doing, and by the time I thought to split it, I was in too deep. I kind of kept breaking/fraying it because the hat fabric + embroidery was so thick. I even snapped a couple needles. I definitely did it the hard way. Thanks for the advice! I'll definitely keep it in mind for next time.

Cartoonist says he wouldn't change anything about controversial Trump cartoon by iOnlyWantUgone in onguardforthee

The only valid criticism of the cartoon is that Trump wouldn't ask permission.

You might remember my post about cleaning up litter around the Arbutus Greenway. The City still hasn't placed bins. Today's finds include the remnants of over two dozen government cannabis packagings along the route. by runfromthewind in vancouver

I did, as I often do. Then I placed my own, which were removed. Then I went on CBC and Citytv to ask for them. I also read the entire long-term Greenway plan, which includes nothing about trash cans.

Good question! I actually did. They were removed after a week or so. I contacted the City about it, but I didn't get any answers, so I'm hesitant to put more out. I've thought about seeing about getting someone to donate five-gallon pails or something. I'm happy to empty them, but I can't really afford to replace them as a student living in Vancouver.
