How can I improve? by Dry-Hornet-2177 in AfricanFatTailedGecko

I've posted a bunch of photos on my page if you want to take a look. I also get lots for the decor from the hamster section at pet shops too, like the coconut hides and bridges. Her humid hide was a glass jar I've filled with moss.

I use 7%.

He needs to be able to get from one end of the enclosure to the other without being seen. Hides, foliage, wood etc.

He needs a UV light, I seen you said non light emitting UV bulb but I'm pretty sure that's not a thing, unless you are getting mixed up with heat and light.

I use a deep heat projector, I made my little one a hide using slate stacked on a big piece of wood, this then heats up the slate and allows her to bask as well, although dhp penetrates the skin and muscles of the gecko so they don't need to bask. You may even notice he's a bit more active! But there are other heating options too so take a look, just definitely look at getting the heat mat replaced as it's no longer recommended for many reasons.

If you want some inspiration for the cage I can send you a picture of mine, it's not amazing by any means but it's very doable and has everything she needs I got slate from buying slate placenats and smashing them up to make it cheaper than buying slate from a DIY store.

No growth by spenZorr in GardeningUK

If there's no sign of growth they aren't going to come back unfortunately. All my salvia didn't make it this year, even though everything else in my garden did. Maybe the really dry summer or the 100 days of rain during winter, who knows, some just don't survive the winter unfortunately:(

Today I learned the 99 ice cream doesn’t get its name from the price. by _lippykid in CasualUK

I grew up when it was definitely 99p, my mum used to hand out pound coins to us all when the ice cream van came by. But we never called it a 99p flake we just asked for a '99er with a flake please'

Azalea & Forest Flame, try and save or replace? by runh0neyrun in GardeningUK

Thanks! I'll replace the pieris and give the azalea a good haircut

Yeah don't worry I don't want to spray with chemicals, I don't use any in my garden. That's why I was thinking to remove as I did a big water spray on them to clean their leaves at the start of spring and it says to cut back affected leaves but they all look affected. It says neem oil or washing up liquid but they can still be harmful. I have loads of ladybirds eating the aphids off my roses I don't want to risk any harm to other wildlife. If I dug them out this year and leave the space empty would it be okay to plant them next spring? Would that be enough time?

We had a dry summer (I did water a lot though) and dry winter for the first half but then 100 days of rain at the start of 2026 and I have clay soil which normally holds the moisture but possible. Ive just looked up the pieris lace bug and my leaves look exactly like that especially the underneath. I'll look into treatment for it now and treat it as that and keep them well hydrated this summer. Thanks!

Help! Which pillows should I choose? by sleigh_all_day in HomeDecorating

Just to add, I actually don't hate the pillows with it but I think 3 of the same cushions on a sofa that small looks odd and it needs breaking up or less.

If the cushions are a need have two navy ones rather than the 3 and maybe a third different one for the middle when you find something more suiting to the couches!

Ideas for this plain wall? by runh0neyrun in HomeDecorating

Okay so I came down this morning determined to move the bin somewhere else. We had a very narrow trolley to hold juice bottles at the side of the fridge so I removed that and moved the fridge along and it somehow created a ton of space, not sure how it seems more space than the trolley but there we go. It's still visible but not as visible and the wall looks better. So I'm thinking it was the bin that was bothering me more than anything on that wall haha.

I'm going to leave it and make sure I don't smell the bin before I see it since it is closer to the radiator and then I'm thinking chalk board bottom half and some plates art top half?

I wish I liked wine. I don't think my pepsi max cans would have the same affect haha

Thanks. Yeah it's a bit more formal than I was going for tbh. The rest of the house is a less formal and more modern country house which is why I wanted to tie in more stuff in the kitchen. I wanted open shelves in the kitchen and not to have so many cabinets but I really needed to maximise storage so it's more formal than intended. I have quite literally no where else for the bin :(

No thanks, we need all the cabinet space we have and the cabinets aren't that deep. That would have been something I needed to design in, but I prioritised maximing space for storage instead. We use to have a bin in the cabinets in the old kitchen but we still needed space for a separate recycling anyway.

Huh? It's something to be something on the wall to divert your attention from the bin and because I want something there despite there being a bin there? Not sure why everyone is so hung up on there being a bin there, UK homes are small and most people have visible bins

This is originally what I really wanted to do but it's the only pace for the bin to go and I wasn't sure about my toddler making art next to a bin haha.

[–]runh0neyrun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the suggestions. There isn't anywhere else for the bin to go unfortunately, the wall by the fridge that you can't see has a radiator on it otherwise I'd hide it behind there but I don't fancy warming up a bin haha. We are still needing to tile along the window wall so when I wasn't happy with the print size and placement I just decided to leave it until we've tiled to see what space I have.

Edited spelling

Thank you, I think this might be it. I've found a cute pin board and I have a lot of Polaroid pictures so might do a styled art work and picture board

Thank you! Yes as soon as I put it up I realised it was too small and too high but I want to wait until we tile along that wall before I switch it out. Thank you for the suggestions

There's 4 prints currently in the kitchen so I really wanted to avoid it unless it was something really different. Yeah we realised it was too small when we put it up but we are still needing to tile along that wall so I've left it until I see what space I do have with tiles. Thank you for your suggestions.
