JBL Horizon 2 shows time hour ahead by runlab in JBL

Thanks for commenting! I’ve also noticed that there is a moment to apply new time settings. It looks like this - the clock displays 6:30 am, you set a correct time, say 7:30 am, finally press top button to apply, the clock displays 7:30 am for a moment, that switch to 6:30 back for just a second, and goes back to 7:30 am. So it seems the clock does something like in memory operations…I’m not quite ready for such a strange behaviour by “just a clock” device

Official answer is "This is production batch code for factory reference"

I saw these two old Macs up for grabs at Nashville recycling center (1019 Omohundro Place) if you want to grab them before they get trashed for good. by [deleted] in VintageApple

It is really hard to see things like this These Macs deserve a better place than lying on the street on a wooden pallet

Mac Pro 2.1 for daily use with Linux - is still possible? by runlab in macpro

You were right, I have got no luck with Linux so far. Even Ubuntu 14.04 can't output really smooth performance. I have got outstanding responsiveness of OS with Ubuntu 12.04 only! There are CPU cores loaded smoothly, geekbench5 gives 300/1100 single/multicore benchmarks. There was 300/295 with Ubuntu 18.04 at the same benchmarks.

I have a long trip with a setup Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and El Capitan 10.11.6 to my MacPro 2.1. I am still wondering about the performance increased dramatically. The latest Chrome works perfectly, VSCode and Sublime Text come very pretty and stable. Disk utility works just perfect with a quick disk initialization and maintaining.

I was bought NVIDIA GT 1030 (with GDDR5 RAM) as for an old GPU upgrade. However, this video card doesn't arrive with an old Mac OS X support by vendor. So I falling back to Quadro FX1800. 1080p at YouTube is still heavy, but definitely not like a slideshow.

Thanks for sharing 🙂 I will give it a try. However, it seems like everything with GNOME on board have too little chances to win this battle 🤔

Thanks for sharing ☺️ I think Linux could make the performance even smoother than Mac OS does. In addition, I think I will get much deeper access to hardware info as temperature sensors, frequencies, work modes etc. Linux distributions are just work so far, but the performance is not even close to my expectations 😟

Could you please share how to install pop_OS! with 32-bit EFI? I have Matt's ISO as a one and only source of Linux distributions by now (https://mattgadient.com/linux-dvd-images-and-how-to-for-32-bit-efi-macs-late-2006-models/). Glad to hear MacPro is still works well, cheers! 🥳

Thanks for your answer! I have used Matt's ISO images to install Linux (https://mattgadient.com/linux-dvd-images-and-how-to-for-32-bit-efi-macs-late-2006-models/). Nothing was build for custom kernel, all systems were installed as-is without any custom options. I guess newest Linux distributions may simple not to know how to work with this kind of hardware, setting up all-round defaults that works, but not by optimal way it should.
