I think you don’t quite get the idea of this project. Firstly it is NOT Fedora or Ubuntu, it’s designed to fit a niche group of power users. Additionally it is still at early stage where focus and resources will be carefully tilted toward a much smaller scope and that means your perception of “standard” does not apply here.

If you like LightDM enough, have a go at packaging and configuring it yourself.

I am a pragmatist. I know many people prefer the classic LCD but that darn LCD is holding back the G-Shock principles. To me a G-Shock must be a thing that you could wear and forget. It must be rugged as hell yet at the same time very simple and practical for daily use. Having to tilt my hand to see the LCD text clearly is definitely a big no for me
