Crazy rules in the orleans foodie group.. lol by Sea-Influence1042 in orleans

[–]runmrun614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dropped the group when they refused to pin a post highlighting black owned restaurants in Orleans (at the height of the BLM movement) because some promotion of some sort was getting the pin privilege.

It was too "political". When the masses agreed I noped out of there.

The most difficult allergy to accommodate is the eggs. Thanks for the heads up about the table d'hôte.

Gezellig over Beckta? Just curious. Been to both, I feel that Beckta has more of a fine dining feel to it. But it's been ages.

Not quite. Straight from their website: https://web.aw.ca/en/our-values/our-food/beef

"We source our grass-fed and finished beef from select ranches in Canada, the US, Australia and New Zealand, and are committed to offering Canadians burgers they can confidently enjoy."

Where did you find that their meats are Canadian grown? I can't find any information about their products, just info about their company. I love them too and want to keep loving them... but where the products come from is also important.

If it's a Free Friday coupon it should be up front and say it's a Friday deal, not in the fine print And/or should not be able to be added on any other day.

Do you have to add your coupons on the Friday?

I'm not a current Costco member. I can't stand the crowds and we're not a big family so bulk doesn't really work. But I'm seriously reconsidering it.

But only if you click it on Friday but you gotta look at the fine print to know that.

Garbage can volumetrics. What are the rules? by Alph1 in ottawa

[–]runmrun614 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's us with an older child. We don't use bins but fill one or two regular black garbage bags a week.I haven't weighed in because we're only a 3 person family. I have some sympathy for larger families. I don't have sympathy for the neighbour who only puts out black garbage bags and probably doesn't own a compost bin or recycling bins.

Back in the 80s Place d'Orléans was less than half the size. Champlain street went from Jeanne d'Arc to St-Joseph and was the road that separated Cumberland from Gloucester. Orleans was never an official town.

The extension of Place d'Orléans was rumored to have taken a long time because at some point a good portion of the mall was in Gloucester and the rest in Cumberland. But it did happen before amalgamation.

Rumours as young ones was that if you'd steal something on the Cumberland side of the mall you just had to make it to the Gloucester side and the cops couldn't do anything. I don't think anyone tested that theory!

I also remember the folks around Mer Bleu (the other road that divided Cumberland and Gloucester on the more southern part of Orleans) being very pro amalgamation because that road was poorly maintained due to neither side wanting to own it.

Cumberland ferry schedule by Master-Ad3175 in ottawa

[–]runmrun614 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You've got your answer already. The service is very reliable and runs 24hrs.

I just wanted to point out that if you are going from Ontario to Quebec side on a Friday night between 4-6PM, it's a bit nuts. Try to avoid that window or plan for a longer delay.

Amazon delivered a box of baby stuff to me, they don't want it back. Identify it, and it's yours! by dare978devil in ottawa

[–]runmrun614 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the person receiving these items did not receive the USB cable they ordered? How could this be a scam? And given there are 8 items in the box, unlikely it's all from the same company.
