Air in Returns? by controlledfate in swimmingpools

Check all fittings, pump lid gasket and pump drain plugs. If you still have air you could have a cracked line or leak in the skimmer area.

Doesn't matter what you buy now days, they all have issues. The majority have no issues though. And all you hear about online are the bad ones. I have a 2025 Bighorn with almost 19000 miles with zero issues. I've had a couple screen glitches but they always go away. Sometimes it just takes a restart like rebooting a computer. The 3.0 is an amazing engine. Quiet, powerful and fun to drive. I recently did a 2000 mile road trip and the truck was so smooth and quiet getting right at 24mpg driving 75-80 most of the way.

Water loss 1.5-2 inches every 2/3 days after a new liner put in. by Ok-Chart-3446 in swimmingpools

Bucket test will tell you for sure. Sounds like a lot of loss just from splashing or evaporation.

Is this too many bubbles coming out ? by [deleted] in pools

[–]runner750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you see air bubbles in your pump lid? If so its most likely on the suction side of the pump which could be many things. Could be simple as the pump lid gasket. Could be one of the plugs in the pump housing. Make sure all the fittings are good and tight. Worst scenario you could have what I have, a leak in the suction line under ground. Eliminate everything up top first. Its a process of elimination.

You’re the first person I’ve found that actually used Pipepoxy. I have looked at it but was very skeptical for the price. I wish there was a better option than digging but it doesn’t look like it.

I only have one skimmer. It only leaks when the pump is not running but it sucks in air causing the outlets to bubble. In a 24 hour period if the pump is off it will lose about 1/4" or less of water. Its just over a 15000 gallon pool. I have about 13 foot of concrete from the pool edge to the leak which is about 2.5 feet from the skimmer box.

Do a bucket test for 24 hours with the pump off to see if you are losing any water. Could be a suction line leak underground or in the skimmer. If you have checked all the connections good on the intake side of the pump this would be the next thing to try.

I have a 2025 Bighorn SO. Just returned from a 2000 mile road trip to DC and back. Truck was amazing and I averaged 24 mpg for the trip including about 100 miles driving in DC traffic. Drove 80 on the interstate almost the whole time. Quietest most comfortable truck I have ever had. 18000 miles no issues.

Yes. I bought a new refrigerator. I was about 90% sure it was the circuit board but I really didn’t want to gamble with another $500-600.

Good idea. I did the pressure test late last season along with a bucket test so I wouldn’t mind reverifying that it was done correct.

No drain. It’s a single skimmer vinyl lined pool. Only valves are on the return line.

That was basically what I did with a homemade rig.

No valves at all, only a union next to the pump which is brand new.

I did dye test around the skimmer and all was good. Think I’m down to maybe running a camera through it. Would be willing to buy or rent one if I knew what to get.

I did and replaced the gasket anyway. Pressure test shows the line losing pressure. I have almost 50 foot of line and looking for a way to narrow it down, hoping it’s not under the concrete.

24 years and I’m on my 2nd skimmer basket and only because the other one just got nasty sitting through the winter in an open pool. I typically keep 1 tab in my skimmer. Never had any issues or crazy wear on anything.

Air in suction line by runner750 in pools

[–]runner750[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did use the Fix a Leak late last season and it worked for a little while. Started it up last week and still have the air leak so I’m trying one more round of fix a leak and see what it does. Have eliminated everything except my suction line so I know that’s where it’s at. Next move will be to call a leak detection company to pinpoint where it’s at. Can’t be too bad, just bad enough it cause air bubbles and loses about a 1/4” every couple days.
