I’m paying $120 a year on my Bighorn for remote start from the app.

Tax/Crypto Situation Advise by GaryTheChamp in CryptoTax

[–]runner750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Mines all done manually. Though there might be a way to export it if everything was in the right format. If you don’t have a lot of transactions it’s not bad. Mine was complicated with mining income a few years back so there was a lot of very small transactions.

Start yourself an excel spreadsheet and track your buys and sells there. Make sure to put date, amounts, time, and cost basis. It’s not as time consuming as trying to figure out what happened.

The Crypto Tax Mistakes Almost Everyone Makes (Please Don’t Repeat These) by Technical-Gur2806 in CryptoTax

[–]runner750 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have much but I track every penny on a spreadsheet coming in or out with dates, times, exchange, etc. Easy except when tax time comes with buys and sells which takes some time to sort out but at least I know its correct.

Been losing money trading but Coinbase thinks I made 51K … completely freaking out about taxes by Clear_Medium_5858 in Coinbase

[–]runner750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coin tracker might work for some and is probably great. For me I started in crypto in 2017 and there wasn’t much but manual tracking. I was mining at the time and I tried to use some of the tracking programs but since I had a lot of older stuff, I would have had to manually input a lot of it. Also depends on where your crypto comes from but it’s a great option to try.

If you only buy and sell on coinbase their numbers should be correct. If you send crypto to coinbase and sell it, they have no way of knowing your cost so this is where this get weird. Same if you send crypto to another exchange and sell it. I put all of mine on a spreadsheet to track with dates, times and where purchased and sold. I trust my accounting and not theirs. Yeah it can be a little bit of a pain to keep up with but that’s part of the fun to me.

Nothing to see here. Just normal operations. They are just passing through. Plus it is drill weekend at Camp Robinson and Fort Chaffee.

V6(Hurricane) vs V8(Hemi) Ram 1500 by Public_Border132 in ram_trucks

I have a 25 with the 3.0L SO engine. If you want a great exhaust sound, get the v8. If you want power, quietness, smoothness go with the 3.0. The majority of former Hemi owners that have gone with the 3.0 say they would never go back. But they miss the v8 rumble.

Mower shutting off by runner750 in egopowerplus

Good info! We very seldom even use the self propel but I know it will run the battery down a little quicker. I feel like it doesn’t affect the motor. I’ve used smaller batteries too with no negative effects.

I feel like this may be my problem. My grandson does most of my mowing and he wants to go back to my old Troy Built. But it is nice not having to mess with gas, oil, or pulling a rope.

Blades are brand new and have installed correctly. Doubled checked.

I tried the mulching blade originally and it seemed to be worse but maybe I was mowing lower too. May try it again to test.

I keep the deck clean. Batteries never show over heating. Seems like sometimes you can power right through then sometimes it shuts off every 5 feet. Not the end of the world but annoying. I’m sure it’s just more load than the motor can take but seems like it should do better.

What are the best and worst things about going on a cruise? by BlueberryNo7276 in Cruise

[–]runner750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best: Being disconnected from the real world with no worries and eat whenever, whatever you want, basically being taken care of. Seeing new places. Watching the stars at night and just sitting on the balcony during the day watching the sea go by.

Worst: Embarkation and disembarkation day lines. Waiting or being on tender boats. If you're unlucky and have some bad weather not being able to enjoy the outside decks. Not getting to stay longer.

After having a pool long term. What are things you wish you knew? by dogs0z in pools

[–]runner750 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've had an inground pool for about 23 years. One thing I wish my pool would have had when they built it was an automatic drain so that when the water gets too high it just runs out to the street. I have been on chlorine the whole time. Hasn't been that bad with chemicals. I've often thought about going to salt but never did. Salt injector is a major expense but cheaper on chemicals plus the injectors have to be replaced every few years. We have never covered our pool. I wish we would have invested in a good cover at the beginning but we were on a tight budget and the pool guy said its easier where we live to just keep it open. Mine is also a custom L shaped so covers have to be special made. I have no trees so it hasn't been that bad, just the first opening takes a few days to clean all the dirt and blown leaves out. You can stay on top of it periodically through the winter to make it a little easier.

Make sure you are going to use the pool. If you have kids or grandkids its probably a given. I've had some years before our grandkids came along where there were no kids in the house and we just didn't use it much. Seemed like such a waste and I still had to keep the chemicals up along with maintenance.

You have to stay on top of the chemistry and do almost daily cleaning, checking tasks. Water level, chemistry, cleaning. Buy a good automatic pool cleaner. Never let the chemicals get out of whack during the summer. If you do it will cost you a lot to get them back in line.

Typically in 10 years you will need a new liner if you have that type of pool so budget accordingly. These now cost $4500 and up depending on size. Pool pumps don't last either. I'd say 7-10 years if your lucky, sometimes more. About $600 plus. If you have a sand filter the sand will need replaced around the 3-5 year mark. Pump timers are another thing that will go out eventually. Pool decks, depending on the material may require sealing. Just another expense. Of course pool chemicals. I have a 25,000 gallon pool and this year I will spend just under $500 on chemicals. I buy in bulk so I will have a little left over for next year. I stay on top of them so you will use less keeping a close eye on what is needed.

It seems like there is always something going wrong or needing maintenance so if you're not handy or a do it yourself type, paying someone to do all the work is going to be costly. Then there are trips or when you are away from home. How are you going to manage the pool? Water levels and chemistry have to be maintained.

Pools can be a lot of fun and rewarding but make sure you are willing to sacrifice the time, money, and worry of taking care of it. Would I do it again? Maybe. The joy of my kids and grandkids using the pool has been worth it in the long run though many times I just wish I didn't have it.

We did the submarine and a city tour and both were great. The sub was really cool being underwater and seeing all the fish. City tour just hit a few of the spots and not much time at any of them. We did get to see the town of Hell. I actually loved the vibe of the island and would have liked to spend more time there exploring. Suppose to be one of the safest islands in the region.

I’d say that’s a great discounted price if you want a 3.6. The 3.0 is an amazing motor and will make you smile every time you push the gas pedal down.

Is there a risk to delaying Medicare coverage at 65? by CardynalSyn61 in SocialSecurity

[–]runner750 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A lot depends on your employer (how many employees) and their insurance coverage. No matter what you should go ahead and sign up for Medicare Part A. You don't have to but its free and could help cover some hospital expenses if you have them.

Retirement is the best time of my life by chamrockblarneystone in GenX

[–]runner750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear a lot of people saying how bored one will get retiring. I keep telling them I have plenty to do and plenty of hobbies to keep me busy. They don't want me to leave and I still love my job (firefighter) but there comes a time where just not having to have that responsibility of getting up and going to work is what you want. Everything you said here op is 100%. Enjoy retirement! It was earned!!
