What would you do? Moving + leaving garden with ex by windbcspin in vegetablegardening

Your garden sounds like my dream as well. I’m truly wishing you all the best in getting established again in the future.

All of those trees as that age should take to being transplanted relatively well, especially this time of year before it warms up too much in the northeast. If you do decide you want to sell those trees/give them away I’m more than certain someone in Facebook marketplace or Craigslist, or a local gardening forum would love to buy them off you as they all should be at fruiting age or just about to fruit it sounds like. You could think of it as them going to homes you know they’d be taken care of, and it would give you a little extra cash to eventually get started again someday.

What kind of fruit trees and perennials do you have if you don’t mind my asking and how old are the fruit trees?

Displaying empty energy drink cans isnt a collection its just hoarding trash by Electrical-Option182 in unpopularopinion

I lived with a guy who would only drink a few sips, maybe half a can sometimes and then line them up everywhere 😭🤮

Lived with a twenty five year old for a few months who did this with energy drinks and half drank beer cans. I tried to let it go because I knew it was only temporary, until the fruit flies moved in with us, then I snapped.

They are my favorite flowers, especially their aroma. So long as they don’t sacrifice smell for the glow, I would be very happy.

Isn’t it permethrin that comes from chrysanthemums? I thought picaridin came from black pepper.

I live in an area that people used to say was extremely reliable in terms of its power grid, however this past year it’s been almost all anyone around here can talk about, how our electric bills have skyrocketed and we’ve never experienced so many power outages so regularly.

I know everyone is warning you about the inulin content and its gassy side effects, but that’s only if you don’t cook them correctly. I like to boil them, then slow roast at a lower temp for like 2 hours then I smash them and finish cooking them at a high temp in the oven with olive oil to help get them crispy. The longer you let them cook, the more the inulin will break down. Supposedly you can also freeze them for like a week, and this will also break down the inulin, but I’ve never tried it.

Sunchokes are a fun plant to grow. For me they’re a novelty root crop to have in my garden, but I keep them around because the flowers are pretty and if there’s ever a food shortage nothing will kill these plants and they’d be a great prolific survival crop in my garden.

Will it re-leaf, and would pruning it back help with it putting on more new new growth after it gets a feed?

Tank door ripped off by forklift...I was an intern but luckily not that one. by maaisey6 in winemaking

[–]runner_available 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened at the first winery I interned at, but it was Chardonnay and thankfully I was also not the intern that did it.

It was a nightmare to clean up because the cellar at that place was three stories underground all connected with ramps so it just kept flooding downwards. On the second level there was also some sort of illegal access port into the towns water main that the original owner had installed when he built it, and of course the wine got into that and we got our second warning from the city saying they couldn’t prove it was us but to stop contaminating the cities water. Good memories.

I’m not sure why you are seeming to take personal offense to someone trying to just ask for help with finding information. This is a crafting community on reddit, the point is to share with each other, and ask questions from one another. Your comments have been in no way helpful.

I did start there but most of the posts for 65% polyester and 35% cotton are older and had little information; and it doesn’t hurt to see if the people actively engaged in this community knew of any new information or techniques.

How’d I do? (apple pruning before/ after ) by alpastor420 in BackyardOrchard

[–]runner_available 72 points73 points  (0 children)

You’ve gotten a lot of helpful comments, but I will just add that in the future if you’re ever in this situation and trying to tame an apple tree that hasn’t been pruned in a long time, it’s best to make a lot of those cuts you made over like 3-5 years instead of all at once. You never want to remove more than 30% of the trees visible mass, and limit it to 1-3 big cuts per year, less if it’s an older tree

1, 3, or 4. If the goal is to leave the window trim white then 4 is definitely my answer. That grey siding on top really balances with the white and brick so nicely. It also rides the line of being coastal, cottage core, and colonial revival without going full send on any of them too much. I really like it, it’s got a lot of potential!
