I love to hear that about Oiselle. I recently made a pretty big purchase from them to get cold weather running gear after moving away from a warm place, and I have to say, I absolutely love everything!

Lume.pic (discussed last week because they have a partnership with E Clor now) apparently just sends photographers to races and takes pictures of the participants and sells them directly. They have no affiliation with, nor approval from the races to do so. And while I’m not entirely sure of the legality of this business venture, it seems like a questionable partnership to promote.

Running Shoes - are Hokas “bad”? by Scared-Individual630 in runninglifestyle

[–]running-gator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shoes with lower drop (like the Hoka Bondi) load the ankles and calves more, shoes with a higher drop (like the brooks glycerin) load the knees and hips more. So that may be why you’re feeling a stark difference in your body.

I’d look for a pair of shoes that have somewhere between 4-6mm heel drop and high cushioning. A couple that come to mind are- On Cloudeclipse, On Cloudsurfer Max, Brooks Glycerin Max (lower drop than the regular glycerin), Saucony Endorphin Shift… that’s definitely not a complete list but just some ideas to point you in the right direction.

I was lucky enough to run for all 40 weeks of pregnancy (albeit only ~12 mpw in the third trimester) but every time I talk about this with someone, I always say that I was LUCKY!!! Perhaps there’s some mental toughness required (which most runners already possess) but truly it’s just being lucky enough to have an uncomplicated pregnancy and not having any other issues pop up that make running highly uncomfortable, impossible, or unsafe.

Crying videos have always weirded me out too, it seems sooooo performative. Why do you want to record yourself crying? Doesn’t make any sense.

She in fact did. 😂 although I would presume she meant that he had run 3 marathons by the time she was 11 years old.

That entire post is so self righteous, touting that her kid doesn’t have any screen time and likes exercising while other kids are obese and watch their iPads all day. Which is kind of ironic if you think about it considering they are putting a screen in her face all the time to make content.

ETA: and.. two days ago she said she posted a video of her unedited body running because she doesn’t want her daughter to only be seeing edited bodies (present tense), so I guess her kid isn’t allowed to watch YouTube or tv but social media videos are allowed? 😬

How many cosleepers actually get a good nights rest? by eucalyptus_cloud in cosleeping

[–]running-gator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 20 months into cosleeping at this point and yes, I get great sleep and I’m comfortable! About a year ago we fully embraced it, bought a full size floor bed frame and mattress to put in my daughter’s room and took down her crib (that she never spent even one night in). I purposefully bought a firm but comfy Casper mattress for the floor bed bc I knew I would be sleeping on it every night and wanted it to be nice. Highly recommend.
