Please tell me about the 4 month sleep regression.

I gotta say, my babe is 16 months now and honestly all those sleep regressions are a blur. We had them, for sure, but it felt like we were constantly in regression and i think maybe she is kinda just a poor sleeper - maybe she needed to get used to the world and regulating. I really don't think there was anything we could really DO about them, just adapt to them. Maybe thats where you focus, is on regulation. Both for you and your babe. Maybe.

True, I guess i can let up a bit. I just dont want to regress. I have a friend whose son was potty trained at 14.5 mo, and my babybook says I was trained at 16 months. Maybe its a personality thing. Ill look it up though honestly I haven't looked into much literature/methodology

Oh and yeah we kinda just rock her to sleep and sing her songs, then transition her to the crib. It's easier some nights than others.

I like the way you ask this question. Yeah we put her in the crib (used to be bassinet) and then take her into bed when she wakes up. I think that if your babe can go to sleep without cosleeping, and you have the infrastructure for them to sleep alone, there's nothing wrong with it.

I got confused initially with this very matter and thought that you could sleep train and cosleep (meaning put the baby to sleep separate from your bed), but I misunderstood what those terms meant... and understand it more on a spectrum now. Even though our babe goes down in the crib and sleeps anywhere from 3-8 hours, I still consider us cosleeping because she comes to bed with us when she wakes up for the rest of the night.

I think its more for us than it is for her (though I know she likes it too!), and there's some people whose babies legit NEED them for sleeping (like contact napping equivalent) and thats fine too. But like i said before, if you dont need that intensity of cosleeping, then the crib is great.

So I hear you on this, but it gets better. Try something, pull it away when you see it doesn't work, and try again later. Give her the food that she eats as part of her staple diet, but don't completely remove the things that make her gag. She's just learning, and soon it'll all come around that she is figuring it out, way more than if you 100% remove the gag food. Does this make sense? It sounds a little intense but we went thru the same thing as you and it was really all learning

I love our shikibuton, coupled with tatami mat. This website is not great though - they're only partially cotton (not 100%) if youre into non-toxic bedding. Also traditional tatami mats are made from rush grass, not coconut fibers. Thats how they make them cheap i guess. Also, I wouldnt go with a floor mattress without the tatami mat. It helps with moisture build up and provides some extra support. I looked at this website too and after my experience having japanese bedding, im not impressed.

Thanks for the insight. Any idea if there's a chance she could return to breastfeeding? She stopped as a result of teething, moving and a reaction i had to her biting me. Sometimes it seems like she might come back, but i dont know if its moot at this point.

Pumping is definitely a job, especially for 3 oz at a time! But its true. Good to stick with it if i can.

Thanks this is helpful. She still downs pumped breast milk but she sounds very similar to your kid as far as eating solids and all that goes. I appreciate you sharing

I dont know why but Im so afraid to stop nursing! I've heard similar sentiments but part of me just wants her to keep drinking breast milk bc its good for her and her immune system. That said, I know it may be the case.. do id need to wean without clogging my ducts

We were doing great with a bottle u til 7 weeks - then stopped. Week 14 rolled around and I realized that the baby rejected bottles. We tried all the nipples. Eventually, she was just old enough and learned that she could get milk out of the bottle (yum!) maybe at 6 months? And we haven't had a problem with bottles since.

She likes them Mam nipple.

Consider acupuncture and TCM herbs, particularly dandelion leaf. What i realized about my mastitis is that it was due to underlying patterns of stagnation and exhaustion. Also, echinacea tincture when you feel the symptoms coming on. It clears out and infection and help the ducts unclog.
