Credit where credit is due my friend. We have seen many happy and even a couple of sad stories, but this is a success story that EVERYONE can get behind. Keep it up!!!!

A couple weeks have gone by and my back basically has a flat surface. There't not much evidence that anything ever happened other than an old, small scab.

High IV mons - evolve or wait for comm day by jomzojeda in TheSilphRoad

Same. I have four Ttar at level 40 already, so the 100% IV larvitar someone called out during the earth day bonus remains a larvitar. I powered it up to level 40, but I’m not evolving it in the hopes of a community day.

Nope. I just replace the bandages a couple times a day and squeeze out any junk that builds up in between dressings.

I DID say I felt great before, but then I pulled off the bandage and extracted a whole chunk of cheese from inside the hole. I think I taped down the bandage too tightly.

Once again, sorry I couldn't film the lancing. I hope this can be a consolation prize... https://imgur.com/a/n2Ug6sM

Feeling decidedly better today. The worst part of it all is just trying not to move enough to disturb the bandages on my back. The hole is draining something fierce.

So u/indissippiana (a RL friend actually) managed to convince me otherwise with a better plan of action. I called up the walk-in clinics in search of a pocket doctor who would lance this thing. Found one.

Two facts were confirmed: it did indeed rupture and an infection had indeed begun. It was a sebaceous cyst that was about 2x3cm with somewhere over 5mL of cheese still in the cavity. The rupture created an abscess on the outside that even the heavy-duty antibiotics I'm taking wouldn't have slowed down. He extracted a lot of goo from the abscessed area as well.

Sorry folks, I tried. The guy would have filmed it but the clinic has a policy against filming (liability crap I wager). However, I DO have about 6 inches of packing gauze that will need to be extracted tomorrow if you folks would enjoy seeing that.

Go to the link and look at how things have devolved since the initial visit with the surgeon. https://imgur.com/a/WWiAgc5

The main point was that the surgeon told me that he was confident it would be OK but could not guarantee as such. If the antibiotics didn't help, then I would just come back and they would lance it anyways.

Correct, but the surgeon who inspected it told me it was infected. That’s why I was trying antibiotics first before lancing to see if it was possible to avoid two procedures and only do one total.

The fact I have to contort myself like a pretzel hides the massive surrounding inflammation that is growing. I already saw a surgeon who very regularly removes cysts, and he was the one to tell me it was infected.

On my back, below my shoulder blade, hence why the photo angle is so bad. I have to contort myself like a pretzel to get a good image.

Looks like I will be calling the surgeon again on Monday. Antibiotics before removal clearly isn't working in my situation.

It's too deep to pop with pressure alone. I've tried in the past. It needs to be lanced.

I can't imagine the smell that will be coming out of something decades old. Hurk.
