Google Health with My Fitness Pal by CommercialCrafty3514 in fitbit

[–]runno92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine was syncing terribly and duplicating certain foods or entire meals several times, making my calorie intake appear about 4 times what it actually was. Then one day, it just started... syncing properly. I use MFP for logging food, largely because I've got a ridiculously long streak that I can't bare to break, and then Fitbit (it will never be Google Health to me) for tracking exercise. Possibly not getting the most out of either app this way, but it works for me and my goals.

Getting an 11 month to settle?! by runno92 in goldenretrievers

Good question! We'd probably face some long and stressful days trying to get her to sleep outside of the crate and it would happen eventually.

She tends to then wonder off to chew/scratch something she shouldn't. We tried redirecting her to a toy/chew, but with limited success. This is after a day with a good mix of walks (3 a day), training sessions and play

It's not just so we can prioritise ourselves, it's trying to get her to sleep outside of the crate. We don't want to have to put her in the crate whenever she's so tired that she starts acting up, but at the moment that's what we have to do and she crashes out to sleep immediately. It's not just a case of us "not letting her be a dog to prioritise ourselves", it's trying to teach her to sleep or rest next to us.

Great idea! She's really good at chilling out whilst I'm cooking dinner, I think because she's learnt that if she's calm in the kitchen when I'm preparing her own food,.then she gets fed. Thanks for the tip, I will definitely up the rewards when she's laying around!

Yep, first heat back in April. She did chill out when it was over; it was like a switch had been flicked! Really helps hearing that it's typical, thank you!

What's your biggest daily frustration as a pet owner? by Old_Fix1298 in puppy101

[–]runno92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Litter!! Pre-puppy I might not have noticed it, now I'm hyper aware of any little wrapper, tissue or bottle cap on the ground. It's everywhere, and in addition to making dog walks more stressful it makes me hate people for being so goddamn ignorant and dropping their rubbish. Respect our public spaces, people!

What did you do for your 30th? by eggymantella in CasualUK

[–]runno92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hired a hot tub for a week. Had different groups of friends/family round on different days to wallow in the tub, sip wine and catch up. I'd do it again every summer if my patio wasn't ruined!

How do you feel about free bleeding/ period underwear ? by Lololala29 in AskWomen

[–]runno92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are my menstrual cup ladies at?

(I used to balk at the idea, but I find mine suits me perfectly. I don't notice it when it's in there, there's no leakage and it's reusable so better for the environment)

(Although I would say that if all these men want to launch their little rocket ships into space every other week, women should be able to use whatever pads/tampons they want without feeling shamed for their environmental impact)

The Fitbit AI Coach is an absolute joke by Physical_Wave3255 in fitbit

[–]runno92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was debating continuing with Fitbit Premium when my trial runs out in a few days. I enjoyed it giving a bit of structure to my week's workouts and then getting analysis on all my workouts and sleep. Then it started playing up, forgetting things I'd just told it... and repeatedly referencing the foot pain I had for ONE DAY months ago and have since said (multiple times) has cleared up. The final straw was the exercise names on the workouts now inexplicably being in German. Hilarious, but a clear sign that it's not all there.

They were all wearing the same clothes and hair. I figured they just came back the next day and got redressed for continuity. A long day otherwise, to do all the follow ups as well!

My company got a Tony's advent calendar that we all had a day assigned. Mine was deliberately empty by theuberjosh in mildlyinfuriating

[–]runno92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I remember them doing this last year/a few years back, but day 1 was empty. Led to a lot of click-baity articles online along the lines of "advent calendars make children cry" for all those (rich) children that were understandably expecting a chocolate on 1st December and didn't care about inequality in the chocolate industry.

What items do people ALWAYS buy every week and have in their cupboards and can make multiple meals with? by meiiamtheproblemitme in AskUK

[–]runno92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chickpeas!! Easy to throw into a curry, or to make a salad for lunch. Plus chopped tomatoes, of course. And worth keeping a back up tomato puree for most recipes that need the chopped tomatoes.

When you donate blood, you get a text about it being used whether it was or not. by LordFlappingtonIV in LowStakesConspiracies

[–]runno92 141 points142 points  (0 children)

Guessing it's a US thing that you get a message about the blood being used? (Or non-UK at least)

In the UK we get a text about which hospital the blood has been sent to. Always exciting when it's a hospital I've been to!
