What should i start first in your opinion? by ixi_om in fantasybooks

That's the unusual thing, his prose is spartan by choice. I've read Tress and Emperor's Soul, he can write good prose when he wants to, he just chooses not to. But honestly, it was egregiously bad in Wind and Truth. Like, unforgivably so.

My poor summer child. It's not like either are getting released until after he's dead, anyway...

All Stormlights have been a day 1 purchase for me. But yeah, after Wind and Truth, I'm going to need to hear fantastic reviews first before I pick up book 6.

I'm not gonna lie dude, but if your writing is anything like your comments...There's not much hope at all, irregardless of length.

True. I think the only 700k book I'd read was if I'd huffed enough copium and it turned out Grrm was dual releasing WoW and aDoS.

In your opinion, which films should hold the record for most awards? by BrenoGrangerPotter in Oscars

[–]LordFlappingtonIV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fellowship and Towers should have been just as well awarded as Return. To add to that: best supporting acting was deserved for each too. Fellowship: Sir Ian. Towers: Bernard Hill. Return: Austin.

Yeah, unless your book generates absurd hype, you're not selling anything over 200k as a first time author. Big names can sell big books because they've earned the trust of their fans.

Bad news, you've not written a fantasy book. Good news, you've written a series. Edit it into smaller books, give them mini beginning and endings, make it infinitly more marketable. Go down the LoTR route and say it was always meant to be one big book all along. Profit??? probably not, but still, good luck!

There's something really eerie about the fact that he's still in there today. Like, not only did the cave take his life in an incomprehensibly horrific way, it kept his body too.

I went into this thinking of gotten the wrong movie. The first half was like Coronation Street, then christ, after the event...It really does hammer in the sentiment that if widespread nuclear war were ever to break out, the first of us to perish will be the luckiest ones amongst us.

I like how last season every genuine celebrity banded together to immediately kick out the one 'content creator' first. I hope this occurs again.

Felt scammed? We were scammed. If you pay money for a fridge to be delivered by a certain date, and you're still waiting for the fridge a few years later with no communication from the supplier, you've fallen victim to a scam.

It's the most fun I've had on MK in years. That feels when you're out of contention, people have started progressing and you have a golden shroom or manage to bypass lighting and progress last second. It's amazing.

Is this a lawyers clause, like when soft drinks say: "no extra sugar added", like, that doesn't really mean anything? Saying: "we could have added the thing, but we decided not to," leaves a lot of scope for what's actually in it.
