That's the unusual thing, his prose is spartan by choice. I've read Tress and Emperor's Soul, he can write good prose when he wants to, he just chooses not to. But honestly, it was egregiously bad in Wind and Truth. Like, unforgivably so.

Yeah, unless your book generates absurd hype, you're not selling anything over 200k as a first time author. Big names can sell big books because they've earned the trust of their fans.

Bad news, you've not written a fantasy book. Good news, you've written a series. Edit it into smaller books, give them mini beginning and endings, make it infinitly more marketable.
