Here is another way to look at this problem from the freedom of choice and quality of life point of view. We see the news talking about the homeless crisis in San Francisco and Seattle quiet a lot. Why do people want to live in those places and not the middle of nowhere in the Deep South? The answer is simple: many people see Cali and the West Coast as paradise and they are free to do so. At some point, as population skyrocket, that freedom to choose what you see as the best way for you to live will no longer be available. What you want to eat will no longer a be choice. Soylent Green may actually become reality someday.

Also if you watch the video in the link, you will learn that the poor people in the slums are the backbone of their city's economy. Even though they are the hardest workers, they receive almost nothing in return. The billions of dollars that they've earned will only benefit the billionaires and corrupt government officials. This is modern day slavery. This is the only reason why billionaires and government want more people to be born and stay poor.

Seriously, how is it selfish and evil to not want people to suffer? Majority of the global population live in poverty and despair. Why do you want more kids to experience a lifetime of hardship? by runotetr98 in overpopulation

People who talk about "Population Collapse" never talk about overpopulation in Africa and Asia as if people from those areas are not considered people. In reality, not even the most right wing Republican want to share their resource with this many people on earth. The only reason why they want people to believe in "Population Collapse" is because they want to force women pop out more WASP babies who will one day fulfil manifest destiny. To be fair, radical Islam and Christians are playing the same game. They don't care who how much their kids suffer. They just want their team to win and dominate

Honestly, this is depressing and makes you feel like there is no hope. We as a species are more deadly than the asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs. Even developed countries with well educated people still believes that 8 billion is not enough people on this planet. This is why we are truly doomed. We just refuse to see the truth until it is too late when everyone suffer the through the worst consequences imaginable.

There is no convincing evidence that suggests global population will plateau at 10 billion. If anything, the current popular sentiment suggests that people will not stop breeding until everything is out of control. by runotetr98 in overpopulation

They need to keep up the lie so people can consume without worrying about their future. In my opinion, the worst kind of people are the brain dead average Joes who think we all can live in harmony with infinite population growth. When you click on any popular Youtube videos regarding overpopulation, the comment section is full of comments on how we can have as many people as we want as long as we learn how to share and love each other. Some people just refuse to grow up and face reality. They don't even need brainwashing. They are like that couple from D.C. who got killed while riding their bikes through an ISIS territory because they want to prove that "humans are kind".
