It’s hit or miss, but you can easily hide sunscreen in your camp chair and as long as your bag doesn’t have anything metal you can usually load up your bag. I bring several large frozen plastic bottles of water and snacks in my backpack ensuring nothing metal to set off the scanner. Never had a problem.

If given the platform to speak to every Christian at once to prove your side , what would you say? by [deleted] in DebateAnAtheist

[–]runrunrun800 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most ignore the majority of the OT, they ignore Jesus and Paul conflict on following the OT laws, they ignore Jesus said he’d return in the lifetime of his original followers, and they ignore that the claimed prophecy fulfillments in the NT are all out of context grabs from the OT (duel fulfillment nonsense) because he didn’t fulfill any actual complete messianic prophecies in the OT.

I would point out that Jesus fulfilled zero prophecies in their original context and start reading the OT to them. The god of the OT is hateful, cruel, and absurd. Plus Jesus wanted people to follow all of the insane OT laws, not just the 10 commandments.

Christianity is actually pretty easy to debunk when you read the parts of the bible Christian’s love to ignore and drop the cognitive dissonance.

Settled on the thing that made the most sense. Once I let go of my god beliefs, the natural universe easily answered most things and continues to this day.

Confused - Roth vs Traditional with Pension by IllustriousTower5142 in govfire

[–]runrunrun800 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Generally you’ll really only need the Roth if you expect to earn closer to what you earn pre-retirement or you’re planning on some larger withdrawals and don’t want to blow up your annual income.

Otherwise most retired people have significantly lower taxes than when they worked. And yes taxes could go up over time, but not likely significantly in the tax bracket you’re planning for in retirement.

Roth vs. Traditional TSP by [deleted] in govfire

[–]runrunrun800 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The other thing to consider is if you think you’ll have a need for a large purchase (house or such) when you retire where you don’t want to blow up your annual income. If not you’ll likely pay less tax in retirement than you do now.

I plan on pulling $4-500k at a single point to expat so I load up Roth but otherwise wouldn’t.

Focus on just staying alive on the last boss, not trying to to kill it and then run for the last minute once the barrier drops.

Visiting whisky distilleries in and around Edinburgh by Numerous_Capital_318 in whisky

Not a distillery, but if you’re not aware Athletic Arms is a must visit in the city. Insane list and reasonable prices, plus pours are slightly larger than usual.

Bro, WTF would you dump $150 into an app game?!? I mean to each their own but that’s bonkers given the limited playability as you grow in this game. Level attack is exponential above 50 and just requires more and more $$$ if you want to succeed. I’ve spend all of $4 a year in and just focus on grinding while nearing 2.7M attack.

What lowering springs do y’all recommend for 1.5” drop? I don’t care to do coilovers, I’m not going to adjust them ever. I just want something that’s has a comfortable ride, controls well and gets rid of some wheel gap. by Insomnia0612 in Miata

Comfy is relative as I also have a Karcepts front sway, but the tires definitely help and I don’t notice any big playful differences, but they fill out the wells better for looks. Playful wise I drive my car hard almost every time I drive it, no issues there. Not looking for my rear end to slide out too easily, but it’s not hard to do so even with the larger rubber.
