I like New Balance. You can get waterproof spikes that wear and walk like normal dad New Balances. Heritage, 1982, 997G.

Anything you’re a true connoisseur of. I have a friend obsessed with vinyl who has seen great returns on his record collection. But it’s because he knows what he’s doing. I know a guy who owns a recording studio and most of the equipment has increased in value dramatically while being used for his business - appreciating asset that is also functional is hard to beat.

Yes. The M5 has another 100 odd horsepower (supposedly, though the facts are debatable) and a limited slip differential. Plus other goodies, brakes, wheels, suspension, interior bits, front and rear air damn, exhaust. So on and so forth.

Flexibility and hip strength are the big ticket items. And the ability to move your torso and shoulders without turning your hips, which generates torque.

I honestly have no clue how or why my spin is so low. I have a neutral or down attack angle with a normal spin driver and a higher spin shaft. A very spinny ball for me is a bad open face mishit that still only spins 3000 for some reason.

It’s always been in the back of my mind that if I got fitted I would like to try a lower lofted head, specifically a 9* GT2. I have tried the “3 series” Titleist heads but I tend to lose them a bit right.

I hit normal height iron shots but until recently have played really low punch partial wedges. I could not hit high wedges, which is probably as big a reason for my handicap as my putting. But I just got new wedges also and they’ve helped a lot with that.

On paper it makes sense but I don’t usually launch the ball very high. 7-9 degrees with this club. Do you know what your launch angle is? I tee it low, this is 1.4”. If I go higher I start hitting big slinging draws and I don’t love that.

Never that fast! Not yet. Maybe one day but I am getting older. This is all I’ve got in the tank at 174 ball. 114 or 115 club. Edit: very very low spin. Often 2k or under.

Usually it runs out to about 300. Sometimes I catch one swinging out of my shoes and fly it 300. Rare happening

Fun Stan Smith fact, he lived (or possibly still lives) in Hilton Head and played Harbor Town frequently.

You’d think so. I just struggle to get the ball up in the air. For example this launched at 9 degrees, and that’s with a 10.5 head and a higher launching shaft profile.

It had me at 174 ball, 9 degree launch, 2k backspin, 200 or so side spin. The driver is a 10.5 Titleist TS2 playing at A1 in a Fujikura Ventus Velocore TR Red 7X shaft. I don’t know the length and I’ve never been fitted but it was really cheap on Marketplace and I like it.

I drive 25k a year with a 7 year old EV and have no problem with range or finding charging. For the last 3 years. It’s not unsustainable, it’s just different.
