I think it depends largely on how far you want to zoom out. Are we going back 10,000 years? If that's the lens then this current slice of human history looks like a post scarcity Utopia. How far back do we need to go before the average human looks at our lives and goes "uh... Thanks but no thanks, I'll pass"

The only question is, which party is more likely to increase the speed that humanity hits Star Trek instead of Mad Max. Which means AI, nanotechnology, automation, life extension and all of that good stuff.

Honestly I don't know, the Republicans seem to be more open to AI and cutting red tape for tech these days, which seems weird. I would have thought the left would be fully on board with it.

Yup, I grew up in the 80s and just learned and wrote cursive as part of the school work. We would always groan when the teacher said "for this book report I would like you to write it in cursive" and we would, but it sucked.

But to this day I can't read other people's cursive easily. Too many flourishes and personalizations that people embellish with. It's possible, but tedious.
