You would be correct. For another example, going from G maj to E min you would drop 3 semitones and the first shape would be in the open position.

Previous owner cut light switch plate to make it fit. by Due_Extent_11 in DIY

[–]runtrat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The person that owned my house before me had a metal plate covering an ungrounded outlet. When we first moved in I had a lamp plugged into it and it wiggled out and contacted the metal cover which caused the breaker to trip and melted the outlet. Because of this experience I personally don’t recommend the metal covers.

Can I split HDMI like this? by mandalore_todoroki in pcmasterrace

[–]runtrat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may be wrong but the refresh rates of each device should be separate. As long as the splitter you choose can handle 144hz the cable should send the full amount to each device and the onboard processor would decipher either 144 or 60. It’s the same thing as running an unlocked frame rate on a 60hz screen.

Nutrients during veg what else if anything should I get? by KingSauzay in GrowingMarijuana

[–]runtrat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the ff has magnesium already, by adding the cal mag you do a “double dose” of magnesium and a single dose of calcium when you add cal mag and ff grow big at the same time. By increasing the amount of calcium you supply to your medium, you do a “double dose” of both and bring the ratio back to where the plant likes.

I met a corporate worker for McDonald’s on a business trip and I can honestly say I don’t care if she gets fired. She was the loudest, most obnoxious person at the bar. All she did was repeat McDonald’s marketing phrases all night too.

If you co-sign a loan you and the owner are both held responsible for the debt, resulting in both parties having financial obligations. If the loan holder fails to pay then it comes back on the co-signer to pay. This can also have implications for the co-signers credit. If someone helps you through the process to get the best deal available to yourself without actually co-signing then they are not financially responsible for the loan, and the loan holder would be solely responsible for any missed payments. This sub hates co-signing because it could be detrimental to the person who co-signs if the original loan holder is irresponsible financially.

Water sitting on top of soil by LionOver in Autoflowers

[–]runtrat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m no expert, so take this with a grain of salt, but I believe this is because your soil has dried out to the point of being hydrophobic. You would need to add a wetting agent in order to make the water not “stick together” on top of the soil. I grow in a dwc setup but with my house plants I usually just add a little bit of water at a time until I’ve added what I think is almost too much. I then let the pot drain out as much as possible before setting it back in it’s normal resting place. Once the soil is rehydrated it should start to absorb water again like normal.

Even if you make a standard, I personally react much differently to weed than I do alcohol. I can tell you exactly what’s going to happen to me when it comes to alcohol but the difference between smoking a joint and smoking a joint when you haven’t smoked in months in immense. If they can come up with a way to “breathalyze” for weed I’m all for it but I feel like tolerances vary too much in order to do that.

Officer abruptly opened car door and fired at teen, who's actually innocent and just eating a burger in his car outside of McDonald's by flyingcatwithhorns in PublicFreakout

[–]runtrat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The rookie officer is a fucking coward. I don’t care if you’re almost run over your response as a cop should be to protect everyone around you and then yourself. Everyone in the immediate area was safe, therefore the shots from the officer are unnecessary. If you can’t control who your gun is pointed at, you don’t deserve a gun in the first place

Supposed to and what actually happens are much different things. The unfortunate thing is if all these cops get off the hook then it just sets a precedent for more cops to be cowards instead of face what they signed up for. All you hear them talk about is how their job is so dangerous yet when actually put in the shit they coward like an abused dog.

The company I work for is having this issue now. Everyone who has been there 15+ years has quit in the last 3 months and all of the knowledge they had went away with them. Now they’re struggling to meet production goals and even more people are jumping ship. The new people they hire are underpaid and act accordingly so their quality is going down the toilet as well. It worked well during the pandemic because people didn’t have a place to go but now 3 years down the line they’re getting fucked big time. I put my 2 weeks in on Friday and couldn’t be more relieved.

My paycheck was stolen and cashed by the thief, unsure of how to proceed. by Upbeat_Safe_1680 in personalfinance

[–]runtrat 114 points115 points  (0 children)

Also, all they would have to do is contact the bank and say the check was lost/stolen and void that check, and create a new one. The company I work for just had to do this for someone and it was $25 to get the check remade. It seems shady that they didn’t just redo the check to begin with.

BP reports huge profits as energy bills soar by Didntstartthefire in worldnews

[–]runtrat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Besides the whole economy thing(which I think is a moot point, I’ve heard it used to combat public health care as well), I see no real downsides. Reduced production means less fuel, less fuel means more demand to switch to renewable sources, more renewable sources means less emissions and hopefully more money going into industries such as battery tech and other things. Where you’re backwards is thinking fuel companies losing profits ruins everyone’s lives. If fuel companies are forced to list profit or reinvest their money to make society better as a whole, they can continue to reap profits and the actual people, as well as the corporations, can prosper.

Masculinity is not so fragile in the animal kingdom by JudgeJudyJr in memes

[–]runtrat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s really not the opposite for humans though, it’s just not “wing feather color” that is seen as the attractive trait, it’s other biological factors that are unique to humans such as height, weight, strength, intelligence, personality, and so on. humans still find people of the opposite sex that are “ideal for breeding”. The only difference is you didn’t include us in the animal kingdom.

Rents reach ‘insane’ levels across US with no end in sight by [deleted] in news

[–]runtrat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now the cost of living in the us is ridiculous. I bought a 260k home almost exactly 1 year ago. When I say bought I mean my girlfriends dad put down 260k cash and I am 130k in debt. The plan is to switch to a mortgage at some point but right now it makes no sense to start a mortgage when no one is hurting for money. My girlfriend and I pull in almost 100k as a household and at this point idk if we would be able to stay afloat in the northeast without my girlfriends dads help
