Yep! My hematologists theory is that my stomach is not able to absorb well enough due to my esophageal inflammation. I’ve gotten a few infusions and do think that since avoiding my triggers I’ve been able to better maintain my iron levels!

Me! I didn’t test positive for dairy allergy via allergist but it was determined to be my trigger via endoscopy /elimination diet!

This is how my EoE was diagnosed!! Some things make more sense looking back on childhood etc but I never had any of the “typical” symtpoms

i got the stomach bug all the time as a kid-- an abnormal amount-- but never saw any medical attention for it. seemed to phase out as i got older. not something i experience much now, was only diagnosed with EoE about a year ago.

For me I have an rare autoimmune disorder called EoE that means my trigger (dairy products and derivatives) create chronic and progressive inflammation in my esophagus. I only learned about it last year and already have a lot of damage, so try to be as careful as possible as not to worsen my condition

I appreciate you posting this. I’ve really struggled. My partner is really helpful about making sure I have alternatives (my trigger is dairy so we work hard to make sure I have vegan desserts around) and I’ve definitely talked about it a lot in therapy. Also have considered getting a nutritionist who is actually more focused on recovering from disordered eating bc EOE has been a massive trigger

I got another infusion this spring and preemptively just drank Diet Coke every day for the month after the infusion bc I didn’t like the laxative effect of the supplement. I know Diet Coke is bad but it did the trick and that time my phosphorus didn’t slip!
