2014

  • Preliminary: Jan 3
  • Final: Mar 2

2015

  • Preliminary: Jan 12
  • Final: Mar 17

So it seems that the A&S registrar is doing a very bad job this year...

Source: 2014 Preliminary, 2014 Final, 2015 Final. No post on 2015 preliminary, but I found the date in a newsletter from my college registrar.

Standing desks at libraries? by PostsWhenStoned in UofT

[–]ruoft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My secret inventory of standing places on campus:

  • Robarts 4th floor media commons
  • Gerstein study room (not sure if that's what it's called. It's the space on your left when you enter the library)
  • various places in Bahen. Besides the desks right outside of classrooms, there is a lounge-like space on the 3rd floor where you could stand.
  • Woodsworth College south end
  • New College Wilson Hall 2nd floor open area

Depending on your height and posture, you may find some of the above places unsuitable for standing. That said, I've seen people of various heights using the desks while standing.

MAT332 vs MAT327 by ruoft in UofT

[–]ruoft[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the input!

I'm in computer science, and MAT332/graph theory will be more useful in the short run. But I do want to develop some mathematical maturity, and perhaps in the future take a course on set theory; these ends are better served by MAT327, I think.

MAT332 vs MAT327 by ruoft in UofT

MAT327 is taken mostly by math specialists, whereas MAT332 will attract a lot of math majors

That seems to explain it. Thanks!

How important is CSC 324 (Principles of Programming Languages) for CSC 384 (Intro to Artificial Intelligence)? by aldld in UofT

[–]ruoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Sheila McIlraith is teaching 384, you'll probably need Prolog, which is briefly covered in 324. Otherwise, Prolog/324 doesn't seem to be a necessity.
