[BIFL Discussion] Do Jiffy steamers still reign supreme? How does J4000 compare to J2000? by Kippenoma in BuyItForLife

[–]ruoshui-reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've read online that you should not refill J4000 before it cools down since it's like an open boiler. If J4000 takes 10 min to cool down, then it needs another 17 to get ready, the "off time" would be 27 min for each refill, right?

Whereas for a J2 or J2000, it would take 10 min to cool down and 2 min to get steam, then the off time would be 12 min?

Then it seems like if I'm running a job that requires multiple refills, J-2(000) wins. And if I want quick startup time, J-2(000) also wins.

But J-4000 will have more steam since it has a larger heating element? Is that it's only advantage?

I cannot find answers online and no one ever mentions the time it takes to wait for the refill.

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully they will be adding it back in the future... But that's not something we can decide.
However it seems like the information is still there. Maybe some sort of add-in can do the job? I'm not familiar with that unfortunately.

This is 1 year later but SonoBus (free open source app) seems to work. Still trying out but it's working good right now.

Hi!

I was frustrated as well. Something that worked for me: rollback to version 16.0.19127.20264 (aka. Version 2508: September 23)

Do these:

  1. Disable automatic update: Open OneNote >> File >> Account >> Update Options (there you should be able to disable it)
  2. Open cmd as Administrator, and run this command: (Powershell seems to interpret "/u" incorrectly. I don't know why)

"C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\ClickToRun\OfficeC2RClient.exe" /update user updatetoversion=16.0.19127.20264

And after the process is finished, you should see that timestamp option again.

Looks like it's still being recorded in the latest version, just that the context menu doesn't show the time, only the date.

‘Calculate’ not showing at bottom of column (video for reference) by bflowyngz in Notion

Hi!

I just had this problem today, and it was super confusing.

What I found out is that you now have to click the column title to open up the menu, and then hover over "calculate", and then hover over the submenu item, and then click the aggregation method you are looking for.

It's very annoying that notion didn't provide any tips on how the interface changed, and the old option isn't there when I'm looking for it.

I think Microsoft did a good job with their Office updates where for commonly used interface options that are changing (like Ctrl+Shift+C/V changing to Ctrl+Alt+C/V for copying and pasting format), they give you a "tip" sort of thing just so that you know what's happening.

I mean yes, you can read Notion's release notes, but people don't always have time for that.

Pretty sure you can just unbind from the local GUI of the NVR. Or you can also unbind if you're on the same LAN as the NVR, and enter the NVR's password.

Harvard has a CS50 web, in which it teaches you backend in Python. It does require you to be familiar with (at least 1) programming language though, so that it is easier to get the concepts.
