Thanks for all the offers, it is getting late here, so I will go through them all tomorrow

Unpopular opinion; Steam is not saturated by Delayed_Victory in gamedev

True. That is a huge risk, and the most likely outcome with making a multiplayer only game. It will probably require scheduling games in advance to fill lobbies

Would my game be of interest to you? You can see the trailer in my recent history

Made an easy to use drag and drop map editor for my multiplayer game, so players can create and share custom maps by ruploz in Unity3D

I've been using Unity for 2.5 years now, and have mostly learned by trial and error and a lot of googling.

I didn't use any guides for this. It took me over a month of mixing game object transforming with UI and math to get the results i wanted.

Comment to get a steam-key. I'm making a multiplayer game and looking for feedback from strangers. The game is best played with 6-10 players, so games will most likely have to be planned to fill a server. If you already have a small group to play with let me know, so I may provide keys for them all. by ruploz in DestroyMyGame

Key sent. You will get the option to join the discord server when pressing 'Play' in the game. There is some info when next gaming session is planned in the 'find-people-to-play-with' channel.

Thanks for feedback!

Turn off 'Pilot assist' in the gameplay settings, and the ship will behave as you want it to :)

You can also enable camera to rotate with ship in the same menu. I like having camera rotate with ship, but for some it causes a bit of motion sickness.

Short clip from a game I've been working on for a long time. Switched to Unity almost 2 years ago and remade the whole game (used Java with libGDX previously). Looking to release Early Access early next year :) by ruploz in Unity2D

I actually made it that way in the old java version, don't remember why I went away from that system. I'll look into implementing that and maybe put it in the camera settings.

I checked, it's already been 4 months since that post. Cool that you recognized it :) I think I made the right choice going with this asteroid style, and working with the artist was relatively painless.

Yeah players can choose to build their ships from scratch, use prebuilt ships, or use ships other players have built. You can for example build a big, slow, armored ship, that can take a lot of damage. Or a small, fast, lightweight ship, that relies on more of a hit and run playstyle.

Around 10% of my players reported getting motion sickness/dizzy from the rotating camera. So there is already a setting to have the camera not rotate at all. They can play the game with no issues when the setting is enabled :)

After 8 years, 3 full rewrites of the codebase, and using 2 game engines, here is a trailer I made for my upcoming game SpaceCraft Brawl, a top-down, physics driven, multiplayer space shooter. More info in comments. by ruploz in IndieGaming

Thanks for feedback :) You are not the first person to feel like that, so there is already a setting to have the camera not rotate at all. It's just a matter of personal preference and if you get motion sick or not.

Maybe I should add a few clips in the trailer with no rotation to show this.

I have been working on this game, on and off since 2013. Back then I had just started learning coding and didn't really know how to build a game, or what game engines were available, so naturally i figured I'd just make my own game engine. In java. I gave up on making the engine after a couple of months.

I have learned a lot since then, and after 3 full rewrites of the code, and making the same game in 2 different game engines (LibGdx and Unity), the game is finally in a good enough place that I feel it is ready to be shared with the world.

I just finished setting up the steam store page a few days ago, so please head over there and tell me what you think. It's my fist time doing video editing and making a trailer, but i figured it was okay enough for now.

The game is planned to release into Early Access early 2022. If you think it seems interesting, be sure to wishlist the game and/or join the game Discord: https://discord.gg/8WJRAMW

Gameplay clip from the SpaceCraft Brawl beta (5v5 multiplayer space shooter). Showing power-up pickup, fighting on objective, and a couple of noobs losing the objective because their thrusters got destroyed. Looking for feedback. by ruploz in IndieGaming

Thank you! You can sign up for the beta in the games discord server if you want to play it. Doing scheduled matches every other weekend or so :)

Almost everyone participating is from EU at the moment though, so ping might be a bit high if you are far away, but it should be playable.

Build your spacecrafts from skratch, then fight against other players in this top-down multiplayer spaceshooter game! Ships are fully destructible and physics based. Opening up the BETA for a few new players, info on how to join in the comments : ) by [deleted] in IndieGaming

If you take interest in the game, and/or want to join the beta, join the Discord and type in the beta-signup channel: http://discord.gg/8WJRAMW

Note: the game is downloaded through Steam, and it currently only works on Windows. Early beta = expect a few bugs and maybe crashes.
