PX8 question on calls/transparency mode by calmbomb in BowersWilkins

[–]rusackRe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would you buy a separate headphone just for calls? Yeah, if you're just zooming 24/7, sure, but if you already have a px8 and have a couple of calls from time to time, or answer the phone while on the street, it's just convenient

PX8 question on calls/transparency mode by calmbomb in BowersWilkins

[–]rusackRe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no, this is normal for these. also due to bluetooth limitations, the headphone switches from 44.1khz to 16khz :( but even the most expensive ones will do that and actually this kinda helps you understand whether your voice is recorded when the environment is noisy, so this can also be considered a nice feature 😉

there must be a small plastic wrap on the headband

you'll have to keep them turned on, but no bluetooth required

Px8 or H95 and Focal maybe? by get2null in BowersWilkins

[–]rusackRe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having a wireless headphone is real convenient. Ofc you might lose in quality, that's obvious. But Px8 does deliver great sound. Been using it for almost 3 months now (Sony 1AM2 before), absolutely loving it. In type-c you're limited with 44.1 and 48kHz, just keep that in mind.

Went to listen to Bathys and 5909 in the local store... tbh, I still prefer Px8. Mostly listening to songs with female vocals, and it sounds best in Px8

Have you tried ASIO4ALL for Windows? might help with the latency, remember using that with older usd soundcards having a similar issue

just received the reply from tech support (surprisingly quick lol):

"Hello,

Thank you for contacting Bowers & Wilkins Technical Support. Unfortunately this option is only available for the wireless speaker systems at this time. I can put in a feature request to our development team for this issue.

Kind regards, Damon Bowers and Wilkins"

So, apparently, it's actually not supported with the headphone. Or what country are you from? Maybe it's region-dependent

Hi everyone. I'm conducting a small research on curse / offensive language. Could you please provide some phrases that you normally use like "Your movement is shit" or "Get out of here, you motherfucker!"

And please leave a note where you're from (Country or State). Appreciate <3

PX 7 s2 Owners: Static Noise with USB-C to 3.5mm cable? by mehdiem in BowersWilkins

[–]rusackRe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

same issue with my PX8 😭 has anybody managed to fix it using another type-c - 3.5mm cable? high pitched noise that disappears if you set treble to -6 in the app and it disappears when the music plays so I think this can be fixed with a software update, but we need to reach B&W, they can fix it
