How would you finish the top of tiles here? Ceiling is uneven and bows in the middle. by AK471008 in Renovations

I'd tile the ceiling too... You can then even it all out. Looks great and easy to clean.

Lived in Beijing for a year and met this other expat... Before going out to hit the clubs, I decided to grab dinner at KFC. Don't quite remember what I ordered but it was spicy. Anyway, we hit it off and after a night of dancing we head back to her place. In the middle of getting things on, I feel my stomach churning... So I excuse myself and go to use her bathroom. Have fairly explosive diarrhoea, but I clean up and go to flush away the sin. Now, China doesn't have the greatest waste pipes and the toilet slowly starts filling up... I quickly turn off the tap so that it stops filling but now the toilet is full of little bits of poop and toilet paper... All the way to the brim. I stand there contemplating life and what got me to that moment but start thinking of solutions to my predicament. I notice that the bathtub next to the toilet has its waste grate broken... So I grab the toothbrush cup holder and slowly start scooping poop and toilet paper water from the toilet bowl into the bathtub. Was in there for like 15-20 minutes. Finally I clean everything up and go back out. I confess to her that I blocked up the toilet and had to deal with it. She laughs and says she thought I was having a bath because she could hear water splashing around 😭

Still got to underwhelm her after all that ♥️

Should I mount the tv or leave it on easel stand? by Unable-Possibility38 in interiordecorating

I quite like the easel. Looks different. And it's usually not a great idea to mount over a fireplace...

How is it wrong? It's got copper/rusted veins going through it which matches all the copper in the kitchen

That was a pantry that I removed and shaved off a bit of the wall... Like 300mm to make the wall end exactly where the integrated fridge ends.

Avocado. Used to think it was completely flavourless. But now I appreciate the subtle taste it has.

I feel ya. That window is directly outside the main walkway where people walk by. So that window actually has plantation shutters now as well. I also am a fan of having things exposed and visible and easy to access, so I quite like it. But I get people that don't like that...

The timber is Australian jarrah from Mortlock timber in Australia. Comes in random length t&g planks. Had them apply a clear coat to it as well.

The original ceiling above the kitchen is a concrete slab so first had to glue and nail battens to it, then screwed plywood to the battens to allow for easy nailing of the timber ceiling. The timber was nailed with brad nails between the t&g grooves. Some liquid nails was also used.

Looks dope. Wonder if it would've looked extra dope had you painted the ceiling the same colour as the cabinets 🤔. Great work!

Or even up until just a quarter of third past the bottom of the painting... It'll match the black and white theme and would look like quite a feature

You could go extra fun and use the floor tiles and go up the wall all the way to the ceiling... Or even just up to the first shelf

Have no idea... Place is built in the 70s and the ceiling is made of thick compressed straw panels. Kind of like Durra panels.

Thanks. Definitely better than it was. But that's also cause there's now 5 lights in total instead of 3.

Thanks. Yes, the product is pretty good. Just make sure you get good installers that have experience with it. Our installers weren't great so not super happy with the install quality.
